Over centuries of transition of language among borde communities have made languages transferred from its borders to others that doesn't make those communities same. Marriage has also contributed to this.

What do you understand by culture? The most important aspect of a people's identity os their language. If those people choose to claim they're different from the language they speak, that's a different story.

Ok sir. But I didn't say Fubara is igbo sir. I just said he is Ijaw but knows how to speak igbo, it doesn't mean he is not Ijaw. Many Igbo people speak yoruba because they were born and grew up in Lagos. It doesn't mean they are not still igbos.

Forgive me, but Fubara IS and will always remain Ijaw, likewise Opobo.

Knowing how to speak Igbo doesn't make him an Igbo man. Opobo people are a mix of Igbo and Ijaw. Some are Igbo, some are Ijaw while Igbo remains the predominant language spoken in Opobo

what happened to the Descendants of the igbo slave that remained in bonny after slave trade? What happened to Aro and Abam slave Marchant and thier descendants? The fact is that during the slave trade and Palm oil trade many people from the hinter land settled in the coastal area of the present day Rivers State. Some of them came as slaves, merchant, servants, slave hunters etc and they did not go back. They are ijaw for political reasons ... 60% of indigenous people in bonny and opobo have igbo blood.
