Not all soldiers get sent to the war front. Also, soldiers do survive battle, we have great guys that have been soldiers for decades. It's not for cowards.

The reason why the military seems to be trying to recruit more foot soldiers is because they're actually lacking man power in the fight against Boko Haram. And why won't they be lacking man power when all their Northern soldiers have been sent down to the SS and SE to terrorises the Locals with road blocks and extorting motorists on the highway and in the cities.
There's a particular army base at Bata, Aba, Abịa State and all they do is send their squires to harass and collect money from any truck with loaded goods.

But they will not waste time in sending southern recruite to north to fight Boko Haram.

You are the one arguing, i am discussing facts. You feel an army is doing better while millions of the people they're fighting for died. What are they fighting for? Would you say the Nigerian Army is doing better than boko haram and bandits if they kill and kidnap thousands of Nigerians and injured just 1 Nigerian soldier? Are you thinking at all or just chest beating and regurgitating folklore?
Imagine Ukraine losing millions of its citizens and billions in infrastructure to a needless war, and someone is saying that Ukrainian soldiers are doing great since only 100 soldiers died?

We practice a democracy, meaning those people were chosen by a majority. We have over 250 tribes in Nigeria. You just mentioned 4 people out of over 200million and if an Igbo is not there, it is marginalization?

Vice president Kanuri
Senate president Ibibio
Speaker Hausa.

We have Efik, Nupe, Igbo, Ijaw, Tiv, Edo, Fulani, Urhobo to mention a few.

Join the Army to be wasted.

The situation looks very bad, many youth have shun that institutions because of bigotry, wickedness to men.

The image is not been helped by the thieving politicians who have bastardized the image of the military over the years.

It's better to be in Ariaria/ladipo market or even be a taxi driver in cali/texas than to join an institution that use its recruits as a tool, a pawn and that sees men as trees.

The image can be improved if the Army dissociate it selt from out thievery politicians

The positions that are recruiting is just army recruits, that's why they're going around looking for youths to shore up their dwindling numbers in the front lines ( something they wouldn't have to do if they would just move those soldiers on the eastern roads and inner cities to the front lines) , they want SS and SE youths to die fighting Boko Haram terrorists that they will still end up releasing into the public as repentant terrorists, while they send Northern soldiers to the south to terrorise and extort motorists.
