I Have Capacity To Become Nigeria’s President — Seyi Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday said he has the capacity to occupy the highest political office in the land.

Makinde, a second-term governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this known on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.

According to him, the 2027 elections would be between Nigerians and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); and not a contest between the PDP and the APC.

Makinde said, “I don’t have any doubt that I have the capacity to occupy the highest office in this land and I have what it takes but what I want to do right now, is it what Nigerians are asking for right now, is it what my party will say we should do, we don’t know; we still have a long time to go.

“But where we are right now is that we must fix our party, we must have a platform for you to even aspire to be anything.

“Let me also say this: if my political journey ends here, I am also happy.”

The NDLEA has had a lot of setbacks and underfunded in the last 2 decades and the repercussions are becoming a societal menace that has made a large chunk of the Nigerian population to believe in every fictional dream that gets into their head.

How does one explain this calamity! That Seyi believes that he has the capacity and what it takes to become President? I think he needs to be specific cos definitely not the President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

How! How was such aspiration born. Oh! He probably thinks because he shares same first name with Honorable Seyi Tinubu puts him in line of becoming the President.

Someone should please wake Seyi up. The best he can aspire to be after his tenure is President of Bodija Traders Association.

As much as I believe you have the capacity, Pbat must finish his 8yrs to be fair and then return power to north, then back to south south and to north again, by the time it comes to south again, you’ll be old and I might be the next in line.

Presidency for the next 50yrs is between southwest, south South and the north. Nothing can change that else we go separate ways.

If he declares his intention to run for office, I'm voting for him. If we can't have an Osinbajo, we can have this one hopefully. But I hope he doesn't contest under PDP, cos they won't allow him win primaries because of Atiku.

I don't like Wike's actions but I see the pain they caused him in PDP. After 8 years of Fulani presidency, they sold the PDP primary to the highest bidder, another Fulani man, thereby wasting the presidential slot.

Seyi and Osinbajo are far better than tinubu.
