Though I am saddened by the fact that poverty levels all over Nigeria is on the rising and it's on record high,south east is benefiting from cultural re-orientation they had shortly after they experience of the civil war,they people are more ambitious,determined,show tenacity of purpose,puts in manifold efforts in things they engage in,knowing that the government hardly cares about them. This led them into massive commerce,entertainment,sports,educational revolution,exploration of the outer world and this is paying off.While some others whom are used to freebies from government may be gnashing their teeths,the igbos galvanise themselves,using apprenticeships system to help poor families in the region. This is same reason the southeast remains the most developed rural area in sub saharan Africa. Some times in life,it seems like your antagonists are your helpers!!! 26 Likes 6 Shares |

There are many igbo youths serving one oga or the other...and this helps to show them way early in their cause of duties. I came to Abuja in 2007 and I served my cousin for 6 solid years despite being a graduate...I did so many domestic works for him and in the end,I was rewarded with good connection and today,I am living my life to the fullest. This is what some tribes will never do,not even the ones that I know. Finally,igbos love themselves beyond words. Forget the nonsense sentiments they push around just to create problems around us. Fake satistics. I have stayed in the east, the level of poverty is rate is high. The only thing you see in the east are empty mansion, nothing more. Go on the street in the south east especially in local government area, the population of mad people is equal to that of normal people, till today in some community in the east, no electricity nor pipe Bourne water. danijesus:You’re not sharp.. This stats is proportional to the population of each region.. Oyo state alone is almost the population of SE which makes SW a region with higher population than SE. Numbers would always be different. Besides that, are Igbos not among the poor counted people in the west? As in, they didn’t count poor Ibo people in the west or all the Ibos in the west are rich? NE is number one because of high population only. It doesn’t mean Ibos are richer than Hausa/Fulani.. 3 Likes |
