Our major preoccupation should be how to get the South East out of any list that has to do with poverty, literacy, open defecation, internally displaced people, low capital, low rate of employment, low rate of growth, malnutrition etc. If there was no civil war ,the generation of the baby boomers would have gotten South East out of this , so now everyone has to put hands on deck to get the East of of such list.

There will never be anytime that Igbos will not have poor people more than the Yorubas who are the richest tribe in Africa.
Yorubas control the building materials market and the fuel chain market in Nigeria couple with all other sectors very important to the lives of Nigerians.

SW had always been the region with the lowest poverty since the creation of Nigeria.
SW holds the highest poor migrants from all over Nigeria especially SE and the North.
Almajiris and beggars from the North and SE that have invaded the rich SW are in millions and all of them are counted in the stats.

If only they can do poverty stats based on ethnicity,Yorubas will always be the lowest.

Ordinarily, I would have listed Hausa/Fulani as 1 followed by Yorubas in 2nd place but for clarity sake, Hausas are the majority while Fulanis are more of minority in terms of population.

A small caveat. The only reason why the southwest numbers are 3.5% is because of the large number of southeasterners living there. Without Igbo people the southwest wouldn't look much different from the north.
