Xannadu:
At the end of the day, you lawyers are no different from the corrupt administration you claim to be against. Your entire argument here is that the government is not legitimate, but the money that comes from it's accounts is legitimate. Then there's the "if Nigerians wants us to refund the money, then they should donate another money to us instead." Show me a better illustration of criminality.

If you guys really have integrity like you seem to delude yourselves, wouldn't it be a better statement of your stand against corruption to not have anything to do with the government funds in order to maintain that facade of independence and autonomy? Are you people trying to say that all the lawyers in Nigeria cannot contribute money towards hosting a single conference?
It is a donation. Every governor does it. Including the presidency. It is a well known association. It is not about corruption. Every politicians donate

The Illegal government in Rivers state don't have any constitutional rights.
So,NBA should stop replying the illegal government.

Shameless reply. Iba doesn't have to go to Court on this but he has made the world see corruption in the NBA again

This is how someone will tell me that these are learned people........okay oOoOO...

So if the Sole Administrator takes the NBA to court as this SAN is rightly insisting....I am suspecting that the NBA and this SAN will be telling the court as one of their major pointers that the SOLAD is an illegitimate illegality brought by PBAT and the National Assembly?

Funny lots.
I would really love to see this case go to court and probably we will hear from the NBA and this SAN that the SOLAD has purchased a judgement from the judiciary!!!!!

did the money come from this man or from SIM?
who among the two above is legitimate?

make up your mind guy
The money is from the state government account. Did Fubara donate his personal money to NBA for hosting a conference in his state?

You're one of the daft people on NL. Fubara won't smell that seat again.

Supported!

The old Military idiot who is sucking Wike’s testicles at old age has only 6 months to stay.

Let him and his fools sue NBA to High Court. They will still be filing process and 6 months will be here.

Immediately Fubara comes back to office, he will simply tell court that Rivers State is discontinuing the case.

Case struck out.

And everybody will go home.

Ronu maggots should find something else to masturbate about.

It is like you do not read or you are just an illiterate.

The money was provided by SIM, the legitimately elected governor, not Ibas.
Your father is an illiterate. That's why you were not well trained in school. Because obviously you're the one not understanding what you read.

Your argument is watery. As long as the money came from the coffers of the govt, you have no basis not to return it. You people are part of those giving bad names to the legal profession. You accused govt of corruption while you're also eating from the same govt. I guess you people have shared the money among your executive and now finding it difficult to retrieve it from them. You're not ashamed of the office you're holding that's why you're trying to justify your actions. Dem supposed use EFCC to carry you for aiding and abating corruption.

Nigerians and selective criticism
We need to be consistent in criticism of public funds and government spending
Cuz I know how this thread will have gone if it was about Tinubu or Sanwo Olu that donated that type of sum for a NBA conference

I don't know why we can't allow Common Sense to overrule our biased and personal judgement, when we know and see 🙈 what is wrong is wrong.
I don't think the NBA is managing this issue well, for in years to come, something like this may come up,so how will they deal with it?

The right thing to do ...this is what I have been saying since ,the sole administrator is not legal in the eyes of the laws of the land ..and so returning that money will be according legality to the illegal administrator in rivers state....they should return the money to the government that gave it to them....I don't know why agbadorians support Illegality and corruption...nawaoh for them

If the NBA needs to rely on donations in order to fund its activities and annual conference then it cannot be said to be truly independent and unbiased! undecided
Re: ₦300m gift: Go To Court, We'll Meet There, NBA Will Not Refund - Okutepa To Ibas by Kinikini: 5:20pm On Apr 17, 2025
The NBA has no shame. N300M of public funds for some lawyers to merry? How will the NBA extricate itself from the bad governance in the country? Why should the NBA hold such an extravagant and flamboyant conference annually at the expense of government funds? The money is nothing but a bride.
There is something called materiality in ethics, and N300M is material enough to be considered a bribe. The NBA could never have looked Fubara in the eye and told him he did something wrong after collecting the N300M. Politics apart, and if the issues between the Rivers gladiators are set aside, the people of Rivers should call for the head of both the giver and the receiver of the bride.
By the way, if the common people call the Rivers Government illegal, should a so-called ''learned profession'' do so without a court pronouncement that the Rivers Government is illegal? Anything to keep their loot.

Very shameless people.

Another example that proves without a doubt that politicians are not the only group of people to blame for why this country is the way it is.

Lawyers have cashed out like never before under this democracy and clearly they now believe it is their God given right and anyone that does not like it should go to hell!!

I don't think you read this write up to the end

Because if you do, you will not spill this out.

The money was donated by the elected Governor and not the legitimate sole administrator.

He is not a tax collector, he has no business asking for refund

The only person thst has the right to ask for refund is the elected Governor

This is deep and put this illegal Sole Admin in his place.

Ibas is not a debt collector and Fubara will decide what to do after resuming power.

Power belongs to the people

Simple!
Let's even assume they are to return the said funds,it should not be received by an imposter but the state governor who was the one who initially gave them!
