It's a pity..

If this thing isn't curtailed now, it will spread (even worse) to other regions.
Why capture terrorists and call them repentant, to the point of recruiting former enemies of State into the Army.. God what is wrong with Nigeria?
How did we get here??
What is wrong with Tinubu and Buhari?

Too much emotions. I understand and actually regret what they did to the easterners during the Biafran war. It shouldn’t have happened.

But the truth and reality of that time was that Gowon’s best move to preserve his people was to go to war.

This does not mean that an average plateau man prefers some of those northerners over easterners. He just knows that once Biafra secedes, his entire people will ill be conquered the next week.

Please let’s set emotions aside.

Let me tell you again, if 1967 was to happen again today, Gowon and his people will still fight to maintain one Nigeria for their self preservation. But if they were to vote between an easterner and a northerner in a presidential election, they won’t hesitate to go for an easterner the way they did for Obi.

Please guys, set emotions aside for once.
I guess by self preservation, you meant the killing that is going on otherwise delete this your post.

You are actually deluded to think I didn’t think through my earlier comment before posting.

What i posted was a statement of fact. I mean reality . That doesn’t mean I’m happy or had wanted it that way.

And I mentioned Gowon going to war but you guys keep forcing me to make it about plain killing. Well, if it must be about killing, please bear in mind that easterners killed too. The difference was that the people with superior power and external support won.

Tone down the emotions please. I can bet you don’t love the easterners more than I do.

We are just stating facts. Not necessarily what we wished to have happened.

The consequences of the best for his people is what we are seeing today. So weep not my Platue people.
Yes.

But the point is that it would have been far worse if they didn’t fight for ā€œone Nigeriaā€ then. They would have been wiped out or totally conquered even before 1970.

And I tell you again, despite what they are facing now, they would still fight for one Nigeria if 1967 was to happen again.

It was and still a safer route for them.

So why are they crying when they are on a safer route according to you. They should take it up their chin and behave like nothing happened/happening.

This is very sad. You can imagine killing kids of 3, 4, 5, 7, etc years. Some people have heart of stone. How do these Fulanis sleep at home after these mindless killings?
May their souls rest in peace.
I see those monsters as subhumans without any human feelings they are like the orcs in the harry porter's lord of the ring movie.

You still filled with lots of sentiments sir.

In war, you kill other people to protect your own people. It’s a kill or be killed situation.

That some of his people are still alive today is because he killed others. If not, 2 weeks after Biafra has seceded…they would have been wiped out.
There are better options for him he didn't even bother to give a second thought like striking a deal with biafra to protect the middle belt people after they must have becomed an independent nation what if the fulanis were successful in wiping out the igbo nation in that war who else would he have looked upon to protect his people?

Unfortunately for the easterners, yes.

And stop making the Biafra of 1967 issue entirely an Igbo thing. Una no go ever learn.
They will learn when they will also kill your people too because it is coming to your people just like they are killing Gowon people today.

Who will ever believe that we will get to this level in Nigeria?

So what you are saying here is that the people of the middle belt don't even have what it takes to be an independent nation of their own that's why they don't have any other choice than to fight to sustain and remain in this unworkable toxic union where the fulanis are gradually making them go into extinction while the whole world watches helplessly? The truth is still staring u people in ur faces fighting to keep one nigeria will never still save you all from going into extinction it will only slow it down a little ur leaders are clearly not strategic they are fighting to stop the igbos from surviving and getting their freedom instead of also fighting for their own freedom who does that? Am yet to see any ethnic group in history that survived extinction with this type of unusual dumb strategy.

Only you out of all who quoted me seem to understand my point. Others emotionally assumed I supported the his move. What a group of lazy and unrealistic humans we have these days..

But the truth is that he will still choose that move if the situation provides itself again.

And as much as I will never agree with him, I understand the dangers they will face by letting Biafra go.

People cry everywhere in the world. There’s no perfect place. We only have better conditions or bearable places. Even some eastern villages that has nothing to do with external forces are killing themselves. Do we tell them not to cry because it’s not Fulani that’s killing them?

Look, they never told you they will be perfectly safe in ā€œone Nigeriaā€. Their point is that it would be far worse for them in divided Nigeria.

Let’s work with reality, not emotions.

What then happens to his people if the universe makes it possible for biafra to become a reality in future without the igbos fighting any war with nigeria cause in this chaotic union anything is very much possible?

Annihilation in less than 2 months.
That can only be possible if the people accept this fate without a fight it's not that easy to wipe out a whole ethnic group in just two months in this modern age.

They got a better deal in being one Nigeria with igbos, that better deal is terrorism according to you. But what is it that igbos bring to the table made them want to be with the "parrasitic" igbos?

Yes, they got a better deal and the deal is terrorism that may lingers for a 100 years. Other way round may have been annihilation in less than 30 days.

Be aware that they never envisaged that. Middle belt, especially Plateau was a ā€œgarden of Edenā€ in Nigeria. The weather, social lives, tourism and peaceful coexistence.

But let’s even assume they knew they were going to meet this terror by working against Biafra, it wouldn’t have stopped them from still fighting Biafra.

The common, very simple and realistic reason has been what I’ve been trying to explain from my first comment here: they would have fared worse than they are now. They would have been conquered, converted to whatever and those who refused would be eliminated immediately. For now, they are still alive.

What does the Igbos bring to the table? (I never wanted to make this an Igbo issue but an eastern stuff) Are you being sarcastic here because I don’t have time for that.

Well, to answer your question, everyone knows igbos bring balance to the Nigerian system. Most Igbos I know abhor injustice and so are always quick to speak against one even when they stand to loose everything.

With all these resistance from the Igbos and these guys are being butchered like Christmas chicken, then imagine what it would have been like if the Igbos are not there…. Oga, 2 weeks is more than enough for these guys to be annihilated.

Set sentiment aside and try to understand where I’m coming from.

Gowon was only a stooge in the hands of Britain who were only interested in the oil and there is nothing like to protect his people after all his people fought Biafra and not Fulani.

You reason in one direction which is dangerous to your life.
Who will annihilate them in 30 days? What made you think that the fulanis will be this bold if not the initial support they got from some southern Nigerians and the middle belt.

You are full of sentiment at the same time advising others not to be.
