I've been teaching in a private school for years now and it nothing to write home about concerning the pay and the staff being treated like a slave.
During the time of teaching I gathered money to continue my education at NOUN (National Open University of Nigeria) and graduated last year and since then I've been looking for another opportunity to leave the teaching line and I can't quit the one I'm currently doing since I haven't gotten another one and the work is getting worst day by day.
I'm currently searching and looking for a better opportunity and along the line I just bought a Laptop Lenovo Core i5 and looking for anyone that can be my mentor and teach me any tech skills and I'm willing to it.
My course of study is Information Technology (IT).
I'm a family with a wife and kids, it has not been easy with Nigeria economy.

@Op, I feel your pain. I can relate. Teaching is not for the weak, I resigned from my teaching job Jan this year even though I had nothing on ground cos it got to a point I was battling with my health so I had to leave to live. May God bless you with something better Amen

It's a great thing to learn a new skill, but keep in mind that going into tech doesn't guarantee better pay or an instant job. I'm a teacher, and I also learned data science. From my experience, don't assume that tech will automatically make you rich over time.

By the grace of God cause most of the private school owners are bunch of selfish people

Like my own place of work about 90% has already paid and when it time to pay the salary through owner will still be complaining that there's no funds to pay
