There's a saying that 'people do not fight when they are starving, people fight when they have eaten well, they have tasted a forbidden luxury and now they are hungry for more'. I think there is some truth to this... We have North Korea, lots of underfed people but yet North Koreans aren't protesting against the Kim dynasty, but in the more developed South Korea there was an attempted coup... China, a country with poor labour rights is peaceful and an advanced economy while France a country with one of the best labour laws nearly erupted last year. Haiti never protested under the reign of Duvalier (Papa Doc). Here in Nigeria we have Northerners who are mostly illiterates, majority are cobblers, tailors, farmers, and some herdsmen yet you rarely Northerners complain about the state of the Nation the way some tribes do. Let us look some of the most profound political trouble makers that have plagued Nigeria 1) Ojukwu (billionaire son) 2) Ken Saro Wiwa (famous actor) 3) MKO Abiola (billionaire) 4) Tompolo (Prince) 5) Nnamdi Kanu (Prince/British citizen) 6) Simon Ekpa (Prince/Lawyer/Finnish citizen) None of these trouble makers were poor struggling people, they had very little in common with the average Nigerian. Maybe there is nothing wrong with Nigeria, maybe some people are just spoiled and entitled, they have tasted good food, now they want good food all the time. |

danvon:I love the way everyone avoided your stupid thread? You called Ken saro wiwa a trouble maker because he fought for his area to stop being polluted? It’s your stupidity that may end up making you kpai by hanging. Useless tinubu supporter. |

Kimo21:Ken Saro Wiwa incited a mob that led to the death of several elders, he also had a God complex. Him being killed doesnt make him a hero. |

danvon:I had to check who made such a callous post and I've not been disappointed. I would have ignored this one but you cannot just tarnish someone's image for flimsy political reasons. Ken Saro Wiwa was in Lagos when those Ogoni youth went on rampage due to the fact that their chiefs and elders were selling them out to the oil companies, you're not from an oil producing community so, you won't know what some so called chiefs are capable of doing. Remember, there was no internet or mobile phones then. He would never have instructed or allowed those men to be killed since it would destroy the case and credibility he was building for the struggle internationally. Shell wanted blood and they got it |
