Who can explain why Dangote"s fuel is cheaper than NNPCL
Dangote’s is the Ex-depot price (price at the refinery gantry where tankers load), while NNPC’s is the station pump price, which includes logistics, admin and overhead costs.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has transitioned into a limited liability company, now known as NNPC Limited. This change, inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 19, 2022, aims to make the company more commercially oriented, accountable, and transparent. Here are some key implications of this transformation¹ ² ³:
- *Operational Autonomy*: NNPC Limited will operate independently, making decisions without needing Federal Executive Council approval, allowing for faster decision-making and improved efficiency.
- *Regulatory Compliance*: The company will adhere to the Companies and Allied Matters Act provisions and the Petroleum Industry Act 2021, promoting transparency and accountability.
- *Potential Public Listing*: NNPC Limited may be listed on the stock exchange, allowing the public to purchase shares and raising equity capital for the business. Although an Initial Public Offering (IPO) was initially expected in mid-2023, the timeline remains uncertain.
- *Commercial Focus*: The company will prioritize profit, declare dividends to shareholders, and retain 20% of profits for business growth, marking a shift from its previous reliance on government funding.
- *Energy Security*: NNPC Limited will continue to ensure energy security in Nigeria, partnering with foreign oil companies to explore the country's fossil fuel resources.
- *Governance Structure*: Four committees have been established to oversee the company's functions, including planning, finance, sustainability, and audit.

The transformation is expected to attract investors, enhance corporate governance, and boost Nigeria's oil production levels. However, concerns remain regarding government influence, given the state's continued ownership and control. Despite this, NNPC Limited's new structure positions it alongside other successful state-owned petroleum corporations globally.⁴

Insignificant reduction. You reduce by the tens and units and increase by the hundreds. It doesn't make sense.

Dangote is cheaper... Is he planning monopoly even against the government or the government is naturally wicked, heartless and greedy...? Why are the other refineries still delaying...?

It's not possible

1. The fall in oil prices means that funding this year budget is going to be hard. Even if tinubu wants to bring back subsidies, the money would likely have to be borrowed. No can do

2. Keep in mind that making one liter of fuel from crude costs 790 naira. Also in refining fuel there is a lot of waste produced. That is money lost. As a result every refinery producing fuel would have to make a profit to survive. Forcing them to sell fuel at 200 naira won't let them make that profit. They will go broke and the refineries would kpafukpa again. Dangote included

With refining costs above 700 naira?

Would you sell at a loss of 200-300 naira per liter to help the poor?

Sadly people can't afford altruism

Government does do badly in the policy sector, so I don't disagree with you there, but at the end, you must sell petrol at a profit, and it is never cheap to refine crude into petrol
