I know there will be many huddles along the way. It a lofty idea but necessary one.
I just hope;
1. They have access to funds.
2. Permission from the Federal government
3. Collaboration among Enugu,Ebonyi, Abia and rivers states.
With these Mba will be a legend. Nothing wey person wan tell me even if it wasn't completed by him

Why would Mbah waste money to build rail infrastructure to a port that’s supposedly not working? Or other ports outside Lagos are now working?

The airport projects are stoopid.

The funds Anambra, Ebonyi and now Abia are putting into building airports should have been put into this sort of rail project. The SE govts should coordinate this together.

If you leave Enugu at 4am in the morning, it's possible to touch all the 5 states in a day with a solid car. So, why build airports?.

Rail linking all SE states is a much more useful project.

No region in Nigeria needs airports more than South East and North. Because they are landlocked from sea. How do foreigners visit Land in Lagos Airport and take a day railway journey from Lag to Ebonyi ? Such convenience.

Railway cost money. It took Lagos state 15 years to do two lines. Took government at federal government half that time, if not less to do Kaduna-Abuja.

Hence I give the state some leeway.

If it was only within enugu stateno problem
But to build rail track across state lines under state funding and control
Not going to work

South East need only two things from zoo government
Railways 🚃 linking 5 eastern states and airport only .

The competition is between Anambra, Enugu and Abia.

Imo and Ebonyi states should wake up! They have been overtaken by other states!

Funding will make it problematic.yesthe the gov stated he will engage nrc and china.it will still fall on tg to fund
So enugu will not dictate in such a case

Though it’s the Fed job to build rail, states could also do so to ease commerce, they can charge a toll for states that did not put money in the construction if they have goods from or goods to the port.

I hope this information is just a blog, if it is official them Enugu state government want to scam some people. Cbex comes to my mind, where is the fund coming from, what is the return on investments, what of the old Port Harcourt Aba Umuahia Enugu Northern railway line, what will happen to it. All i see here are just empty promises.

I think Awgu was totally neglected by all the Governors in enugu especially Gburugburu.
That man did nothing I repeat nothing for Awgu people.
He came to games villages promised to renovate till he left office.
He promised to decentralize Esut and send some faculties to Awgu which should be in ihe but never built even a single block there.
He built army command day secondary in nsukka, university of health sciences in nsukka, moved some ministries to nsukka, built opi-nsukka road.
But never did anything for Awgu and Aninri.
But, will quickly rush to Ogilishi igbo house in Awgu during Ofala to eat Semo and draw soup as a governor.

If he and other Eastern government collectively achieve this before their tenure expire, they will never be forgotten in history.
