HeavenlyBang:Boss he said 12v system ooo. Max those 60a mppts take is 800w |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 2:47pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
Drgreatone:He also said 190v tbf, I don't know why that Powmr MPPT has different max VOC based on inverter voltage. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by omotoda(m): 3:05pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
fuckboys:Maybe there is nothing to bother about then but I know my Felicity 260 w panels of close to 4 years have about 36.. something volt as VOC so I was only wondering why higher warrage will have same VOC .Perhaps the experts can shed light on this |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by favouredbymercy: 4:26pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
omotoda:Power (w) = Voltage (v) X current (I) So your lower wattage panel with a high voltage, will have a lower current output. Hope you get it? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 5:03pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
omotoda:Power = Voltage X Current Vmp (Voltage at Maximum Power Point) and Imp (Current at Maximum Power Point) are the voltage and current values at which the panel delivers its maximum power output (Pmax). The panel wattage rating is calculated as: Power = Voltage × Current Vmp (Voltage at Maximum Power Point) and Imp (Current at Maximum Power Point) are the voltage and current values at which the panel delivers its maximum power output (Pmax). The panel wattage rating is calculated as: Panel Wattage = Vmp × Imp For instance, a 400W panel can have a Vmp of 36V with an Imp of 11.1A. Notice that multiplying these two values gives you the panel wattage. Similarly, a 300W panel can have a Vmp of 65V but a smaller Imp - 4.61A. Multiplying these two quantities also results in the same 300W. Most premium panels usually have a lower Vmp but obtain their wattage from a correspondingly higher Imp. This is the opposite of most inferior solar panels, which often have a high Vmp but very low Imp. |

mctfopt:Which is weird because surely we want higher voltage than current. I think Jinko's setup is best. 550w = 41 X 13a or so. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 5:26pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
HeavenlyBang:I prefer my voltage to be lower so I can put more panels in series and not exceed a solar charge controller maximum VoC. At the end of the day, power never changes. High voltage or low current the power is still the same - 50V 10A or 40V 12.5A is still 500W |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 5:30pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
mctfopt:Higher current means higher cable costs and higher losses. There's a reason why electricity is transmitted at high voltage, not high current. |

Good evening chief... I drop you a message kindly reach back pls.. Or drop me your WhatsApps contact.... Want to ask you some question regarding this deye inverter.... Thanks GloryJoyeux: |

Haykay2001:For future reference for anyone having the same question(s) you want to ask him, why not ask here? I mean, this can’t be a personal question after all. Someone can learn from it too. |

Bruteality1:I have not seen anyone comment on why the Vmp has a greater value than the Voc, and that is different from the norm. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bkuranga(m): 8:46pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
fuckboys:I'm not an expert myself. Going by the manual, that's already too high for a 24V system. I assumed your system is 24V, if that's correct then you shouldn't be doing more than 105V. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 9:04pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
bkuranga:it’s an mppt cc, it’s fine so long you don’t max out the cc and fry it. And it’s a 12v system |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Haykay2001: 9:14pm On Apr 21, 2025 |
Of cause not personal na.. But the question plenty that why.. Although i will be doing my personal findings as well.. But its also good to hear or read from someone who has experience it.. BigDickProblems: |

fuckboys:Bro, don't play dangerous game with your cc. Things are costly this days. Most 12v configuration should not even pass 70v to give room for open circuit voltage rise. Study your gadgets specs very before any connections. My 2kobo sense |

Hello experts in the house. I’ve been following all the discussions diligently especially the recent ones with regard to the lithium batteries. I am about to upgrade my system to be able to take a 1.5HP AC and also my 1HP submersible pump. Please I need your advice on the appropriate inverter to get ( both KVA (minimum required) and brand ) , the best lithium battery (14-15kwh) and CC (if the suggested inverter is not hybrid), and lastly the appropriate PV array. Thank you. As we all know these things don’t come cheap, so it’s better for one to do due diligence before investing in them, and there’s no better place to get appropriate information like here. Please advise me based on experience and not brand specifications. My working budget is 3M - 3.5M Kindly advice please. |

I have a different opinion! Something to note is that when you add panels in series in range of 500-1000V cable sizes like 6mm can work just fine and this is also related to most residential and commercial projects. HeavenlyBang: |

The voltage of the configuration does not matter as long as yo uare within the voltage range of the CC. Don't get it mixed up bbally: |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 8:51am On Apr 22, 2025 |
bbally:Some of you don't ven know how mppt works First image at just 8:30am cc is getting 55.6V from the panels and delivering 164w of power. Second image , the cc is actually charging the battery at 13.3v and 13.1amps. So you can see the high pvc voltage doesn't matter so long you stay within the parameters of the cc

fuckboys:Please clear me as I want to learn more. 12v set up on powmr allowed max of 80v and 48v set up allowed max of 160v. Are you saying you can subject your cc to 160v on a 12v battery configuration because it's within parameters? Am just confused.... Attached was my cc before I changed to SMS Hybrid
