It is suitable for both to attend sane church for their bond and children upbringing. It shows unity.

Honest question here and i am asking you this respectfully, why MUST husband and wife attend the same church. What is the trouble that is likely to happen if they don't attend same church, and why

Honestly, stuff like this is why couples need to stop skipping the real convos before the wedding. Love is great, but it won’t fix deep differences like this. I don’t think it’s fair to expect the woman to just switch churches—marriage should be about compromise, not control. Both need to meet halfway, or it’s gonna be problems down the line.
A single lady doesn't have a church!

We all say that we are Christians ( bearing from different ministry and churches) but do we have the same doctrine and beliefs systems though we claim our roots is from Christ Jesus.
Many are practicing religion and not necessarily Christians.

The trouble can't be discussed or deliberated upon.
But imagine one who believes in prosperity gospel as we see it and the other disagrees on such........do you not know that alone is a problem.
These things are spiritual in nature and not the natural way we term it.

Isn't the man the head of the family? Yes she should go to her husband's church because there can only be one boss, so that order is maintained. However decision making is a joint decision making venture. Why is ythis even up for discussion, it's a no brainer! Assuming she has common sense and not fish brain!
Re: Must A Woman Follow Her Husband To His Church? by frazee: 7:40pm On Apr 22, 2025
When you marry a man, you move into his apartment. You take his surname as yours, you take all he has as yours but you don't want to take his faith...
Please, before marriage let's this discussion be settled properly to avoid story...
Reason why I advice same faith marriage...
Re: Must A Woman Follow Her Husband To His Church? by bixton(m): 7:47pm On Apr 22, 2025
The major reason why we are even discussing such is because many of us are just a religious people with religious beliefs, systems and practices handed to us.
We have no true relation with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit though many will claim that they have.

Many are walking and operating under the influence of religious and doctrinal spirits handed down to the churches or ministries we belong to.

Vanguard, 7th April edition, reported how a wedding was called off because the bride allegedly refused to follow the groom to his church. Both were Christians but of different denominations.

This is a sober reminder of the need to address certain issues before saying “I do.”
Don’t assume all is well just because you’re in love. Infatuation fades, but the issues you ignore today may become the cracks in your marriage tomorrow.

Ask the hard questions:

What church will we both attend?

How will we handle finances, joint account or separate?

How involved will in-laws be in our decisions?

What’s our stance on parenting and discipline?

Are we on the same page about roles and expectations in marriage?

Most divorce cases don’t start with big fights. They begin with these “little foxes” that go unchecked and gradually eat away at the foundation.

So what’s your take, must a woman follow her husband to his church? Or should they both find a common ground?

What other important matters do you think couples should settle before tying the knot?

Let’s talk. You just might help someone avoid a broken engagement or a broken home.
YES or Don't marry him

There is a lady who attended one of the less popular churches that I know. Mammon, Seventh Day, ECWA, etc are what I meant by less popular. Less than 0.0005% of the world population attend such denominations. And she wants her man to quit his church and follow her. I asked the lady why she can't find a man in her church, and why she has to look outside and convert the man when she knows that her denomination is less popular. Frankly, I am not against her wish because she said its what she desires, but in a cultural setting like Nigeria where women follow men to their churches might not be possible. The fact that the denomination is less popular makes it extremely difficult.

Also, most catholic ladies desire it too, and the goodnews is that there are many men in their denomination who they can marry.

To my friend who I talked about in the first paragraph, I pray God speaks to her. Personally, I don't understand why some people are glued to a particular denomination. It's strange. Christ is the church, and not the denomination. She claimed that's where she is growing. Lol. Have she tried other places when she is already a matured Christian to conclude that just a particular church is where she can grow? I doubt it.

We are our own problems in this world. We have set denominations above Christ, and it is just too bad. Destinies are altered because of this. Marriages made from heaven are made not to happen because of this misconception the devil sowed in us.

God will help us all. Amen.

Children are practicing different religion from their parents, their father and mother are not loving them less.the children are not loving their parents less

Siblings are practicing different religion, they are going through life together loving one another and sacrificing for one another.

But when it comes to marriage, even inside same religion, it suddenly becomes a problem to go to a different church as your spouse.

majority of the people in marriage just want to fulfill the expectations of the society. Are you really in a marriage or in a camp.

If your partner MUST attend the same church as you, why not marry your church member

Depends on the couple cos people have different mentalities. Some are free thinkers and open to certain untraditional and conservative religious practices.

Yeah, they should have both compromise and meet half way at the shrine...

I can bet my left blokkos that the bride knows nothing about Christianity and the Bible.
