Zelensky is presenting himself as an obstacle to the peace. He needs to be very careful not to lose his life this way! He should stop being stupid - there is no amount of weapons or any other form of assistance donated/rendered to his country which can make Ukraine to defeat Russia. It's just impossible!

Trump is just being realistic here,and it will be quite unfortunate if Zelensky fails to grasp the simple message.

Trump is talking about a risk of nuclear war or full blown war with Russia, something that outweighs any form of Us interest in this war.

Normalizing relations with Russia is far more beneficial to US than strengthening it's ties with Ukraine.

As for mercenaries you mentioned, it's applicable to all nations fighting war to engage their allies for support.

Zellensky messed up big time. Putin is doing what any other sensible ruler will do, he's protecting his people from external aggression.
I think most people support Ukraine because humans are generally wired to support whoever we think is the underdog in a fight, but the truth is that Ukraine has always been one of the countries with the strongest military in Europe. Even with billions of dollars in military aid, intelligence, armaments etc from more than 20 NATO countries, they're still having their asses handed to them.

Zellensky should've respected the Minsk Agreement, but instead he chose to allow the West use his country as a battleground between NATO and Russia
