That is a non load bearing element and there are ties embedded in the roof beam that ties rather than nails to the room wall plate. Moreso, the facade serves as a formwork to the concrete.

If that engineer is the one supervising your building, then I'm sincerely sorry for the quality of work.

The parapet is meant to carry load. Subjecting is to dead load of the roofing materials without curing is a desperate call for future failure.

Parapet has nothing to do with load bearing structural members, so why should it need time to gain strength through curing?

Mind you setting time of cement starts immediately after water is added and normal solidified time is between 6-8hrs.

As long as your parapet is cast and stay without falling under its own weight. You can start your roof work.

Let me even shock you, you can even do your roof work FIRST before parapet.

OK, I have always felt something needed to be done. Whether to mix broken palm kernel seeds to granite to reduce decking costs. How long have people done this? Is it hollowed blocks or regular blocks?

Cheaper by what percentage?

Any pictures of standing houses with similar decking?
