Allah's Reward Never Fades - More Than $18,000! by Lukgaf(op): 8:45am On Apr 25, 2025
I recently came across a post where someone claimed they charge $18,000 to mentor others. Yes, eighteen thousand dollars! And while everyone has the right to value their time and effort, I think we first need to reflect on something before we agree with the person.

What about the reward from Allah?

What if you mentored someone, helped them, guided them not for money, but for the sake of Allah?

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"When a person dies, all their deeds end except for three:

(1) Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), (2) Beneficial knowledge, Or (3) a righteous child who prays for them.”
(Sahih Muslim 1631)

Mentoring is one of the most powerful forms of beneficial knowledge because it multiplies.

One mentee becomes ten. One spark of guidance may become a fire that lights the path for generations.

And you want to trade that for $18,000 or more?

Yes, $18k is a lot but what if Allah repays you with more than money?

What is good health worth? People spend fortunes to regain it.

What about safety? How many would give everything to escape danger, kidnapping, or illness?

What about seeing someone succeed and knowing you were part of that journey? The joy, the dua, the barakah. I think these are priceless.

How many teachers today were remembered, rewarded, and rescued from hardship by former students they once mentored for free?

Let’s not reduce mentorship and guidance ONLY to a business transaction. Sometimes, what you offer for free or at lesser price becomes the ladder that lifts someone out of darkness and Allah makes you their reason for success.

To those who think of charging just because others do, please pause.
Maybe your $18,000 is already on its way from the One who sees what no one sees.

Be kind. Be generous. Be the one who gives, even when others take.
Your real reward is with Allah, and it never fades.

May Allah make us vessels of beneficial knowledge and bless us with hidden barakah in ways no money can match. Ameen.

I see your point, and I truly respect the perspective of valuing mentorship as a means of giving back and seeking reward from Allah. It's definitely a noble intention to mentor for the sake of Allah, and the reward from Him is far beyond anything we could imagine.

However, I think it's also important to recognize that the value of mentorship is not always just in the knowledge shared, but in the time, effort, and energy invested in helping others succeed.

Charging for mentorship, especially at a high level, isn’t necessarily about exploiting others, but rather about recognizing the worth of your expertise, experience, and time. If someone is offering deep, transformative guidance that requires years of experience, hard-earned knowledge, and a commitment of time, charging for that service can be a reflection of the value it brings.

It's a balance – there's nothing wrong with asking for compensation when you're offering something truly valuable, especially if it's going to help others grow in ways that can also benefit them financially or personally. At the same time, it’s also about being generous and offering support where you can, and not everyone who charges for their services is doing it out of greed.

We live in a world where time is a precious commodity, and sometimes, offering services for a fee ensures that your time is respected and that you can continue to help more people in the long run. Plus, the person paying for the mentorship might appreciate it more and take it more seriously than if it were free. So, while the reward from Allah is priceless, there’s no harm in asking for fair compensation for the value you’re providing.

Sometimes people don’t take things seriously unless they are committed financially.

They lack focus and jump from one mentor to the other unless a payment is made.

Okay.

This $18,000 mentorship thing has been overflogged.

I have been following Mr. Stephen Akintayo on IG for like 5 years now.

First of all, the advert wasn't for everybody. The man has his target audience. And those who know the value of what Mr. Stephen Akintayo has to offer will gladly subscribe to it.

The majority of those castigating the man and his mentorship class are still battling with how to afford 3 square meals.

Mr. Steve is based in the Some people would comfortably dish out $18,000 to learn from him. And let's not forget, Mr. Stephen might seem like a ordinary entrepreneur/businessman, but the man is highly connected!

Thanks Seun.

Remember the etiquettes of Jumuah!

1. Take the Friday bath! Men may use perfumes.
2. Recite Surah Al-Kahf!
3. Go early to the prayer!
4. Pray two Rakah before sitting in the mosque.
4. Send blessings on the last Prophet of Islam.
5. Do not talk at all during the Imam's sermon (Khutbah)!
6. Make a lot of du'a!

May Allah accept it from us all!

Always remember that mentorship should be based on righteousness and not transgression!

Allah says “Help you one another in Al-Birr & At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah, verily Allah is Severe in punishment”. (Al-Maidah 5:2).

Don't be confused by religion. Why should u be good to others? Because if others are good to u u will like it. The lessons are basic but religion was brought by the devil to take the heart of people from the things that really count. Thats why Jesus did not come to preach religion he came to teach truth and life

Muslims should not adopt the doctrine of grace and doing harm or taking advantage of people, like the christians. There should be justice, equity and due rewards for peoples knowledge, expertise and intellectual efforts. People must be rewarded appropriately and generously for their knowledge and intellectual property. What do the major religions say about intellectual property theft and identity theft.

Lolz.

It's daylight robbery and probably a money laundering scheme.

Anyone that can afford 27m to pay for mentorship probably don't need mentorship.

For instance, you can't be worth 50m and then take over half of it and pay for the mentorship.

In fact, even if you have 100m in your account, you won't take 27m to pay for a class.

As such, people who are are likely to pay such fees are actually people in the mid billion range like 500m or more in their personal account.

How many Nigerians have that around legally? I say legally because na person wey dey do business legally dey look for real business growth.

It makes no sense except it's a money laundering scheme. Besides, why will a person worth 500m+ pay someone who is lesser to connect him to insiders or secret knowledge?

Again, that n!gga is most likely a scammer trying to launder some dirty money.

Of course his course will sell out and then he'll have excuse to have the said money in his bank account legally
