In a joyful turn of events during the 2025 Batch 'A' Stream 1 Orientation Course, NYSC Kwara State is delighted to announce the birth of a bouncing baby boy.

Corps Member Ijaseun Omotosho Bukola (KW/25A/0251), deployed to Kwara State for her service year, gave birth in the early hours of Thursday, April 24th, 2025.

Labour began around 12:00 a.m. at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, and she was promptly taken to the nearest medical facility, Share General Hospital in Edu LGA, where she delivered safely.

The delivery was successfully handled by a medical consultant deployed from the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

Both mother and baby are in good health and excellent condition.

The State Coordinator, NYSC Kwara State, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for the safe delivery.

He also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the camp clinic committee and UITH medical personnel for their swift response and professional care.

In other news, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, on Thursday, commenced its first official morning meditation session for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Orientation Course.

The early morning exercise, aimed at fostering mindfulness and discipline among Corps Members, was immediately followed by the Camp Director’s inaugural address.

In his remarks, the Camp Director underscored the importance of discipline, patriotism, and active participation throughout the orientation program.

He encouraged Corps Members to embrace the values of the NYSC scheme and make the most of the opportunities presented during the three-week course.

“The orientation camp is a critical foundation for your service year. Your attitude, participation, and willingness to learn will shape your entire NYSC experience,” he stated.

Following the address, Corps Members proceeded to the parade ground to begin their routine drill exercises, marking the official commencement of the day’s activities.

NYSC are happy but you're sad. The baby is the main joy here and he has overulled all laws.

What's happening to NYSC, in the past pregnant women are not allowed in Camp.

Itt could be that while trying to do her clearance which normally takes just few days she entered labour.

It could be preterm but you are right. Most times these ladies don't participate in the rigorous exercises.

Deploying a pregnant woman almost due for delivery to a paramilitary camp makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
