Baba-Ahmed may have worked for INEC but he wasn't even the INEC chairman. Even if he was and he did the worst while in INEC, should we say he shouldn't call for a better electoral process simply because he was involved with a bad one?
Should we lambast all the former military generals who are supporting democracy against military rule today simply because they staged or took part in coups that overthrew democracy at a time in the past?
I think some of you are so focused on the messenger instead of the message.
That's an unfortunate way to politic.

That was Obasanjo do or die election. That was the period when votes of Rivers State in 2003 was the same with that of votes recorded in 2007. Meaning nobody died, nobody travels in a space of 4 yrs.

Him being a Mauritanian is another reason he lacks the Locus standi to speak on free and fair elections. Infact, the period between 2003-2007 witnessed the worst elections in Nigeria. Pdp people of that era should exclude themselves from political sanctity

Again, we all hear and see daily, people of Nigerian descent, who contest and win elections all over the world. Has their Nigerianness reduced their citizenship of those countries? We law claim to then as our people, but when it is politically expedient, we claim that fellow Nigerians are no longer Nigerian. Presently the man handling the Calabar - Lagos highway is a Lebanese by his skin, but we all know that he is a Nigerian, as he is a citizen and holds a Nigerian passport, even as he has retired to France.

Which of the elections in Nigeria have we witnessed less rigging and vote buying. You supported Buhari, right? Have you forgotten how he famously stated that APC used remote control to get Oyetola into office, even as it was clear that APC was losing after the first counting? If a President could openly admit such a disgraceful act, how were the periods between 2003/07 worse?

When you use the words “Buhari tsunami”, do you want to pretend about the child voters in the north, who contributed to your imaginary tsunami? Even with the disenchantment instigated by APC in 2014, how would PDP have lost, if not for widespread wayo in the north? The same PDP members of the era that you quoted, include a man called Ibori, who has pulled Delta state into the APC fold, to your enjoyment. The same PDP members of the era include Ganduje and the immediate past APC chairman. Or have you not put them into account? Have you asked them to exclude themselves?

If we must be honest, there was more rigging under PDP era. You forgot how elections where announced before voting is concluded by Iwu. With the advent of technology in 2011, rigging reduced a bit. The underage voting saga was over exaggerated. How many where there? Where there up to 21 mil? Did it affect buhari total votes? Are you aware there was voter inflation down south. Buhari was popular in core north so you can't question his massive figures. With the advent of bvas and cleaning of the voters register, you can see that voting turnout everywhere has been exposed especially in SS and SE since 2019. That of the north is down but still heavily higher than the south to show you that they vote more...

Yes osun was rigged but not the way pdp used to. PDP usually rig mindlessly by adding mysterious figures and gaping the opposition ridiculously but in osun, APC just prevented PDP voters from coming out to vote. No fake vote was added. I don't see vote buying as rigging as everybody indulges in it and it has been there since 1960, social media is only over hyping it. It is becoming rampant because rigging is becoming more harder...

In summary, the views of Hakeem and others are irrelevant as they opposed Tinubu in 2023. He would still win
