mrsqueen:Very powerful points. I will also add that Obi is better prepared to handle the current economic and social challenges Nigeria is currently undergoing. Obi also listens to the people and is the least corrupt of any other person that wishes to step into the ring with him. |

If any body thinks that obi can still repeat the figures he got in 2023 at 2027 that person is deceiving himself. What happened in 2023 elections was purely religious politics. I can bet with anything that 70% of christians irrespective of tribe and region that voted in 2023 elections voted for Obi while the Muslims votes were devided between Tinubu,Atiku and kwankwaso.I did not see that happening again in 2027 especially now that everybody understood that the Muslim Muslim ticket was just a tool used to win an election. I think the best thing for Obi is to merge with Atiku and contest together. Obi can never ever defeat Tinubu if only 2 of them were in the ballot. I am very sure that even president Tinubu will be praying for both Obi nd Atiku to re contest separately in 2027. I repeat, strong merger is the only option left for the opposition if at all the stand a chance to win. |

zuby4real10:Nigeria has even become worse off since 2023, meaning that Peter Obi is likely to garner more votes. FYI, there's always a reason why people vote for a candidate. Tinubu has been the most incompetent Nigerian president so far for totally destroying Nigeria's economy and leading the country into oblivion. Nobody can categorically point to where Nigeria is headed at the moment - no clear goals, no vision and concrete steps! We just sleep and wake up to hear politics, politics and politics with no clear development goals! |

PETER OBI is absolutely the candidate that can easily defeat tinubu in 2027 |
| Re: 5 Strong Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Lead The Opposition Coalition (Opinion) by mrvitalis(m): 9:19pm On Apr 25, 2025 |
zuby4real10:Did you believe he would pull that figure in 2023 ? Won more states than Tinubu? Did you believe he would beat Tinubu in Lagos? |
| Re: 5 Strong Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Lead The Opposition Coalition (Opinion) by Bobloco: 9:23pm On Apr 25, 2025 |
zuby4real10:The only way Tinubu can defeat Peter Obi is through blatant rigging, using state apparatus and deploying state machinery and thugs to snatch it, grab it and run away with it. If it comes down to a free and fair election devoid of voter inducement, coercion, intimidation, and the like, Tinubu would not secure more than 500,000 votes nationwide. |

Peter Obi lock down a region that their votes represents only 5% of the votes cast in Nigeria. A region that the voting values has been exposed since 2015 to lack capability to influence the voting results to determine who win a presidential election in Nigeria. Take noise making, propaganda, fakeness, gragra and demarketing Nigeria from that region, anyone that is serious about winning a presidential election in Nigeria shouldn't consider the region seriously. |

Obi won the 2023 presidential election. And he will still win in 2027. |

Do you people actually think that the north will support a new southerner for president who would still want to do 2 terms thereby meaning that the north will be out of power for 12 years straight? ![]() |
| Re: 5 Strong Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Lead The Opposition Coalition (Opinion) by Fiscus105(m): 6:14am On Apr 26, 2025 |
The biggest problem is that, north cannot endure power to stay longer in the south, most especially core north, they leave as if their life depend on power, in fact, their only hope is power. They would prefer to endure, the 4 remaining years of Tinubu than allow fresh term of Obi. |

Though he isn't going to win because Tinubu is already doing everything possible for his 2nd term return. Yes! Peter Obi has that force to lead the coalition and opposition at the moment due to how he commands lots of followers from every region which majority are the youths. every other persons forming coalition is a waste of resources and easy ride for Tinubu even Tinubu knows this |

You guys are forgetting the fact that most people voted for PO out of fear of Muslim Muslim ticket. It wasn't out of any love or his ability to lead. It wouldn't be so this time around. 2. He can't unite sh**t, if he could then LP wouldn't be in such a disarray. If he is incapable of uniting a small party, what makes you think he can unite diverse opposition parties and interests. You think people like Elrufai and Atiku are moving up and down because of love for Nigeria? It is their personal interest obi can't handle those men. They would control him. 3. The youths clamouring for Obi, mostly are first time voters, GenZ, they just follow trends, most of them just accept the disinformation spread all round by Obidients without verifing the facts or make research. So i don't see a change in that voter demography. In the 10 to 20 years, these Genz would become the majority, that's when his best opportunity may arise. For now I doubt it. 3. Lock down a region? Wth how many votes? If not out of Bigotry, Nepotism, tribalism, then Obi couldn't have gotten over 95% votes in the South East. They voted for him, not because he was the best, as most of them who witnessed his time as Governor testified, but because of fear of MUMU ticket, perceived injustice in power sharing, and hate for the Yoruba people. You guys should just for one be honest just for once, no one is going to hold it against you for wanting a South Eastern to also hold the office of president. But the paint job done on OBI was beyond comprehension. I mean the guy is basically average, but they made it look as though he has two heads, the alpha and omega who can handle all problems besetting the country. SE folks spent so much time and resources in laundrying Obi's image. Infact he is amazed at the outcome he feels it's organic love. That explains the reason why he keep moving up and down attending events and capitalizing on people's grief, just to remain relevant.Who knew him B4 2019, does organic love start during elections? If he has organic votes, he should stay in one place, the votes will always be for him regardless. Buhari is a testament to this fact. The man came out once every 4 years, but still had the same votes. Obi was unknown even after the 2019 elections, what brought him to lime light was MUMu ticket, social media campaign against Tinubu, which was amplified by Christian leaders across the country. That should explain why he couldn't amass then same votes in non Christian dominated states. I was returning from Abuja prior to the elections, a guy just stood up and started preaching, next was how the plan was to Turn everyone in Nigeria into a Muslim should Tinubu wins. That was the message that gave him most of his votes not any organic love Now that fear is no longer there, he is left wth the GenZ twitter, Facebook, tiktok users and his SE votes. |

If una like no give Obi chance, Tinubu wey I see, I swear na like this e go be for 8 years. He is more elite concern than think about the populace. He is more political than driving human development. Mark my words. 8 years wasted be that. |
| Re: 5 Strong Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Lead The Opposition Coalition (Opinion) by eldoradoxx: 6:22am On Apr 26, 2025 |
2027 is Bola verses Obi, a battle between the ruling oligarchs that have been in control of government at one level government or the other since 1999, producing multidimensional poverty, insecurity, unemployment while enriching themselves verses the masses they have driven to the wall. It is not about defection to rig and be assisted to rig by the ruling party, this election is one in which the masses are determined to defend their votes with their lives and blood. Any attempt to rig 2027 will be too bloody . 2023 election was a testing ground. Obi has tested his popularity and seen that within few months, he could garner such number of votes without a single structure, just the masses. Imagine what will happen in the next election when the masses are even more embittered, more impoverished and more desperate. That is why i said, it is between the rulers and the masses. |

The way you people are clamouring for Obi to be president as if he would turn Nigeria to American.it should be noted that Nigeria can never be progress economically even if Jesus becomes the president cos of the ills of the past... Obi is not a magician and he can't do more than what Jagaban has done. Obi is a coward and doesn't have the mental strength to lead Nigeria to the promise land. |

this emergency political analyst keeps bringing funny permutations why there agulu packaged fraud without any achievements in tiny Anambala should be the candidate of a already failed coalition.Bitter obi is no match for Tinubu anyday any time, the moment this political babies realise there is no pathway for defeating Tinubu in 2027, the better for your sanity and health ![]() Ask yourself where will bitter obis vote be coming from aside his tribal SE? The northern region and Sw have the highest voting population and I can bet my balls he won’t be winning any of those region, so make Una rest with this unrealistic dream ![]()

The opposition should have united long ago to achieve electoral reforms. Don’t be surprised that the election result has already been written down and kept somewhere ready for announcement in 2027. |

No: 3 though, the same region mentioned above have a proven history of lack of common front even during the precolonial era. It was characterized by several autonomous communities that took joy in standing alone than to cooperate with the neighboring community to ward off invaders ie colonial forces |

Revisit your first and last point..... An average politician is greedy and they all know. If Peter should become president in 2027 he will want to use 8 years which means 12 years for the south (+ Tinubu tenor) . I am sure you know Northerners are wise and have no patience when it comes to power Peter Obi can not unit opposition party. He is too soft and gentle. People will not take him serious... reasons he could not unit/resolve labour Party issues. |

Number one is wrong, he took away pdp votes in d last election and majority of his voters, voted on ethnicity lines... He represents zoning justice, yet he hasn't spoken once about zoning the presidency to d south, d likes of fayose and wike were the ones talking back then.... D dude ran to another party.... Lastly the youth appeal is also limited to d youth of a particular region |

4. He Appeals to the Youth and the Disenchanted Majority Interesting points but sadly for Peter Obi, he appeals to rabid youths who spend their time online abusing, insulting and cursing other people whenever his name is mentioned in any context. Until he addresses their silly behaviour, he won't be fit to lead any coalition as they have and will continue to burn bridges on his behalf. He needs to also face up to the "Yes Daddy" video or the North will continue using it in their mosques against him, nearer the elections, to scare their electorate away. Even though it won't affect his ability to lead the coalition, he needs to congratulate the winner of the 2023 elections, it's the right thing to do albeit 2 years too late. |
