Pope Francis broke some rules when he was elected the Pope on 13th March, 2013 in order to bring in his simple life. While they were dressing him up before the announcement and subsequent greeting and prayers before the people of God, he somehow surprised the Cardinals who elected him and the Bishops who were present. He rejected 3 things on his body as a dress code. ~ The papal Red customized Shoes for the Popes and asked for his ONLY black shoe he has been wearing as the Archbishop in Argentina. ~ He rejected the Gold Pectoral Cross meant for the Popes alone and decided to go with Old Simple silver Cross he used as an Archbishop. ~ He rejected the ermine-trimmed red velvet Mozzetta which has been so customary to many Popes before him, calling it "Royal". After greeting the crowd at St. Peter's Basilica Square who gathered that night to herald the new Pope, he also refused to be taken back to his room with the Limousine made available that night for him. He later joined the other Cardinals in the common Bus taking them back to their quarters. The next morning he also rejected the Mercedes Benz Bullet proof car brought for his use, and instead went with the simple economy car. He asked them to take him to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, that was the first Church he entered to pray after his election as Pope, and that is the same place he has asked to be buried. He rejected the Papal "Apostolic Palace" and instead took a space at the Casa Santa Marta, where he owns three rooms - a living room, a study and a bedroom and all of them small spaces, just like rooms meant for students in Boarding schools. He was the first Pope to live outside the Apostolic Palace since 17th Century. He will be the first Pope to be buried outside St. Peter's Basilica since over 120yrs. It may be interesting to note that his simple life didn't start as a Pope. He has been known in Argentina as the Archbishop who NEVER dressed as an Archbishop. When he was appointed a Cardinal by Pope St. John Paul II, he didn't get new Robes for cardinals, he rather took the old ones from his predecessor(s), took them to the tailor to arrange them to fit him.😂 Across the globe, the rich and people in positions of power emphasize their status by using luxury brand cars and designers clothes and jewelries. Francis has always refused such status symbols. On becoming Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1998, he sold the big car that his predecessor used and found a new job for the chauffeur.😂 As pope, he has frequently railed against clergy or religious who drive in the latest model cars, denouncing it as “a scandal” and an offense to the poor. A man like Papa Francisco 🤍 He was buried this morning Fada Mentor Copied

He was a vocal and good spiritual leader who worked hard to promote peace and unity around the world. These are virtues he will be remembered for. I know he's already in heaven! |

Pope Francis thinks that Reverend Fathers and Sisters are members of the LGBTQ +++ community, and he never followed the Bible. |

kokoA:He was the first jesuit priest in the history of the church. That's why he can't wear red shoes. Jesuit priests according to hierarchy are the real pope behind the doors. They are called black pope. Pope Frances broke the record. They are the real owners of Catholic church and only them can affect change. The reason he introduced lgbt and no Bishop said pim. Forget their common look, they are very dangerous. |

I can remember when he auctioned one car like that given to him as a gift, sending 100% of the proceeds to charity. Typical of a Jesuit, who take vow of poverty. But imagine running with that casket to Nigeria and demanding 1billion 😭😅 descarado:So much ignorance in one post. How can he be the first Jesuit for a society that was formed since 1540? They are the real pope ke? How can the real pope stay since 1540 only to produce the first pope in 2013 which is now gone? Who told you Francis introduced LGBTQ? He only asked priest not to turn their back but bless them when they come for blessings. (Bless the individual not couples) |

Walai:Jesuit priests are the political cum spiritual arm of the Catholic church. You wanna see occultism, read about them. Any member who try exposing them disappears for life. They were once the power brokers of the world. Don't know about today. If one of them can become a pope, some of their traditions are changing. The person who should have been a pope then with the highest rank was cardinal Arinze but because he is black and will never be accepted, the jesuit had to come out from hiding and took the mantle. Talk of political manipulation and racism against black. Na the same Catholic church made Satan look black while angel look white and this analogy was used to paint bla k people as evil that angel which is white need to save. This is the greatest mind control of the millennium and still control the world till this day. Fear early psychologists. They have strong affirmity with the early church. |

kenny714433:Instead of writing, you can do simple Google search. I don't want to assume I am conversing with one who is not knowledgeable as that is wasting my time. Jesuit was at a point abolished and later started again. For every pope that is voted for, the jesuit has to veto. There was very high ruckus before this late pope was made a pope. |

Very impressive to resist all these things and instead chose humility. That's not easy at all considering he could have been riding in Golden Lamborghini if he wanted. That's just unbelievably humble. Too difficult for me to even imagine |

descarado:Do you even know the process of papal conclave? No one has any veto sir. Before voting, there are rules in which if not fulfilled, the election will be redone until the criteria are met. How does suspension that took place in 1773 even come into this discussion? Even after that, the Jesuit was restored in 1814. How could you say Pope Francis was the first Jesuit priest? So much ignorance |

bukatyne:do you want to learn or argue ? Jesus messages were not for a SPECIFIC person, people or TIME. Acts 4:32-36 "32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. 36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet. " you see examples of were some early christains sold their property for the benefit of the community |

descarado:You are saying a lot of rubbish, bro. I was a secular Franciscan before I withdrew some years back because it was not my calling. Moreover, I had my own many personal issues which made it difficult for me to commit to the fraternities and the community at large. Let me educate you. There are many kinds of priests of the Catholic Church. There are priests who take vows (typically, they always belong to a religious order like the Franciscan, Benedictine, Jesuit, Carmelites, and many others.) Their vows usually include that of celibacy and poverty. Now, the Jesuits are usually teachers. They usually teach in the seminary or mission schools. They earn salaries, but they share their salaries among themselves like the Early Church did. A community of Jesuits is called The Society of Jesus. Because the Jesuit has vowed to a life of poverty, he is not allowed to own properties or keep his salary for himself. It doesn't necessarily mean he is poor. He gets stipends from the Society of Jesus which takes care of his needs. The Jesuit is not extravagant, so even a few dollars can take care of his monthly needs. While it is true that Pope Francis is the first Jesuit to be pope, there is no hidden secret to it. Anyone, who is a baptized Catholic male can become pope, whether he belongs to an order or not, or has taken a vow or made a promise. In fact, laypersons can become pope (story for another day.) Diocesan priests don't make formal vow of celibacy, although they make what we call a "promise". Some of them are secular Franciscans like me, but even a diocesan priest can become a pope. So, stop saying rubbish that Cardinal Arinze was somehow bullied out of the papacy because he is black. Or that the Jesuit snuck one of their own into the consensus of the Conclave. As long as you get a 2/3 majority of votes of the College of Cardinals, you will become pope. Although, one cannot deny that there are elements of politics in the election of a pope. But the conspiracy that the Jesuits are the major player in the politics of the Catholic Church is nonsense. |

descarado:How can u be dishing out falsehood without blinking your eye lids? Cardinal Arinze contested with Pope Benedict and not Pope Francis. Cardinal Arinze was prefect college of Cardinals, doctor of the church and a pure conservative whose work and teaching has helped the church while Arinze was incharge of divine worship and intereligious. Arinze was good, but Ratzinger was a no match. In catholic church, there has been several black popes and the church do not do Emilokan in choosing who should lead them. It's cos of Emilokan that we are were we are today as a Nation. |
