Three times I came to your lowly door":

This line establishes the core theme of the song, where Jesus, in various disguises, seeks entrance to a person's home.
"I was the beggar with bruised cold feet":
This describes Jesus as a person in need, suffering from hardship and cold, highlighting his vulnerable state.

I never listened to the man, but I can bet that Yall are blowing what he said way out of proportion. He couldn't have possibly, sanely meant Jesus hated the poor. I suspect he meant Jesus hated poverty and that would be on point. One of Jesus' main purposes was preaching to the poor.

One of the cardinal evidences of God's goodness towards a man is wealth, material blessings. God prides in blessing his people abundantly, richly and completely.

Some of you are just looking for unnecessary drama and clout-chasing over this issue. Make the man rest abeg. He's touched many more lives positively than those of you here forming small Jesus with no proof. Abeg.

Biblical Proof Jesus Visited The Poor

Matthew 8:14-15 (KJV)

And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

So let no servant of mammon lie to you that Jesus never visited the poor, because according to the Bible Jesus didn't only visit the poor but the first ever person's house Jesus visited during the course of His ministry on Earth, was that of a poor fisherman (who could toil all night without catching any fish. Luke 5:5) called Simon Peter.

God bless.

"Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren"

These are the words of the famous Psalm, 'least' there meaning poorest or most lowly... Jesus also, I mean the biblical story of Jesus, he broke bread and multiplied it for the poor.

Jesus disciples were not rich people, fisherman, workers etc...before they met Jesus, all these according to the Bible story, since the pastor is using the Bible story of Jesus.

People should read the Bible themselves for clarity on a Christian's principle and ideology.

I would say Jesus was poor himself and not that rich!

He even told the rich ruler to go sell his possessions and share to the poor before following him. No pastor should be rich!

what about matthew 25:34 - 46
Is Jesus not talking about taking care of poor people and visiting them in prison...

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Who told you that Peter's family were poor. Was poverty in that scripture you read. Nevertheless saying that Jesus never visited the poor or that he hate poor people is not Christian doctrine. It's an illegal message.
If you say Jesus hate poverty you are right because he came to make us rich but not poor. But if you are poor there is no cause for alarm that is your life.
As for me I refused to be poor.
So let no servant of mammon lie to you that Jesus never visited the poor, because according to the Bible Jesus didn't only visit the poor but the first ever person's house Jesus visited during the course of His ministry on Earth, was that of a poor fisherman (who could toil all night without catching any fish. What is stoping him is the poor and the gullible who continue patronising him. If all the poor, like those who are praying to get their house rent paid, children school fees paid and those who are saving to buy their first car and their likes who makes up 70% of his congregation stop attending his business centre (church), he will surely humble and apologise.
olaric:
No one can deny the fact that Jesus also came to the world to save the poor. I also believe that there is no way you can preach the gospel without visiting people; the poor especially who are the easiest to reach compared to the rich whose door is always shut.

When a preacher or teacher of the word sees or realises that he or she is wrong or has taught heresies, he or she should be humble enough to admit and come out to say so.

But Pastor Ibiyeomi seems bullish and continues to propergate his teachings.

I have seen and heard men of God like Pastor Adeboye come out to apologize when they say something wrong; what's stopping Ibiyeomi from doing same?

2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Happy Sunday everyone.... kindly give something to a poor person around you today if you have and alwatch how God would bless you more abundantly this week.

Jesus Christ hates poverty, never visited poor ppo.this statement also means he hates poor ppo?
ChatGPT said:
The statement you’ve mentioned is a bit of an interpretation and might be seen as a misunderstanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ. According to Christian doctrine, Jesus expressed deep compassion for the poor and marginalized. He was known for associating with people who were considered outcasts, such as the poor, sick, and sinners, and he often emphasized the importance of helping those in need. For example, in Matthew 25:40, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

To say "Jesus Christ hates poverty" would be misleading. Jesus didn’t hate poverty, but he spoke about the importance of alleviating suffering and injustice. He did not "hate" poor people; rather, he urged his followers to help the poor, showing love and compassion.

In terms of the claim that Jesus "never visited poor people," it's important to note that he spent time with people from various walks of life, including the poor, and taught about the Kingdom of God in ways that encouraged caring for the marginalized. Therefore, it would be inaccurate to say that Jesus "hates poor people."

I just Wanted d to be sure about my statements bfor I made them.u seem to lack understanding of wat was said, its because u r worshiping d pastor.

Jesus was anointed to preach the goodnews to the poor. In reaching out, they either come to you, or you go to them, the result is the same.

Peter was an entrepreneur. He wasn't poor. He could cater for his home and his mum.

Our dear pastor is clearly in the wrong. God loves the world. When you love people you visit them. Jesus coming to the world was God's way of visitation.
