I am on a trip (Akure to Lagos) and just entered this evil ditch uncontrollably. I stopped over now and I realized this damage (contour) on my tire. My return trip should be after a few days in Lagos.
The tire is just 8 months old. I have seen this on some tires, including those of commercial buses, before too...

I have got a vulcanizer who said I should just drive more carefully and that only the contour spot may be weaker. He also said the tire may even last its expected 3 to 4 years if that side spot does not get hit again.

So, experts, I mean experienced vehicle users in the house, should I just continue with my trip more carefully or worry about an abrupt tire blowout? Is it safe to continue using this tire? What are the possible events if I continue using the tire?

Tire might be costly but if flipped around to be compared with life, it's cheap! I recommend you change the tire because the weight is no longer evenly distributed and it seems to be a cheap tire

But as a Nigerian with two lives lol.. drive conservatively until you get home, can still use it within your state but try to change it whenever you are going on long trips.

E nor reach one week, I enter bad pot hole for express.
Omo new tire oh not Belgium
Guy I rock that tire over one year.
I just dey very careful not to enter another pothole

Just ask yourself if you were to choose between paying 80k or whatever for a new tyre or dying, you would choose dying instead of buying a new tyre.... Do you want your last thoughts in this life to be "I don use aka gum kill myself"

A tyre is only as strong as its weakest point...And tyres are the only things that connect your vehicle to the road.. So your vehicle's connection to the road is only as strong as its weakest tyre... A gamble with your car's connection to the road is a gamble with your life... A flying car hardly ever ends well.

Replace the defective tyre and stop teasing your village people

Yes na wetin I wan hear be this. This na new tyer too. Bought it in September 2024.

Any issues? Did the contour get bigger over that 1 year, or you just changed it out of safety measures?

I just wish to know based on experience, how much anyone have got out the type of tyer after get this.

If nor be the trip back to Ondo State, I go just rest my mind and continue using the tyer very carefully. Atleast for 1 year like you said.

How I wish driving at 30k from Lagos to Ondo is possible😭. If not for my return trip, na so i go surely drive that tyer until I have another 80-100k I can throw around.

yea but I drove inside Adugbo and no plenty passenger but that motor am also tired of it but economy cannot let me buy what I wanted. But as I watch the video am calculating and I just they imagine how this small ijebu calculation might cost you. See many reasons not to overspeed, likewise don't gambling with life o. Do you have extra tire and in good condition.

Yes , u can fire it but don't let it exceed 80kph. The sidewalls can burst out at any time. Don't allow voka to add more than 30psi to it.make sure u change it when u got back,1 tyre toks now na 15k

Be more careful bro..but you can still drive that tire for a year even at 140kpm
I had similar thing on my tire and I still use am travel like 4 times...if you are scared .change it ..
Also note...do not pump beyond recommended guage of 35kpi or 40..depends on the load .

it all depends if you have a duplicated life.

Option 2: put a tube, experience vulcanizer can work on it. also the psi should not be more than 35. also DO NOT EXCEED 80KM/H.

BY THE WAY, YOU DO NOT HAVE A SPARE TIRE?

option 1: replace it if the value you place on your own life is not equivalent to the value of a new tire

If not nothing do the tire, just avoid impact on that spot.

I mean, right from the roof he has made on his head collapsing to kill him to him choking on the Substance he prepared for his own safe consumption.

I know quite well that the tyer is faulty and now dangerous. So are more than 50% of the vehicles we ride as tokumbo in our cities (rrsaon why they are sold out).

I just wanna know the precautions to take to possibly still get some value out of the tyer, while the current funds goes along with the preset preferences.

I wanna bank on people's experience and if/how my country men have delt with this kinda issue. If I can conditionally drive with tyer, I will do just that. Then I can assure you that that 80k+ will still safe life one way or another, considering my scale of preferences.

I had an experience exactly like this. Luckily I just parked the vehicle in the house went upstairs, when I heard a loud bang. I didn't even need a soothsayer to tell me it was that tyre. Thank God I was not in motion when it happened. With your tyre, it's a probability. It can burst in 10mins or you could use it for one year, but you definitely can't bank on the experience of other people for such things.
