Obi's Adopted Indonesia Executes 23 Anambra Youth For Drug Offenses by DomPerignon(op): 9:36am On Apr 29, 2025
The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, has expressed deep regret over the recent execution of some Anambra youths in Indonesia for drug trafficking offences.

Reacting to the viral video showing the incident, the Commissioner described the situation as highly pitiable and unfortunate, noting that the loss of such able-bodied young men, who could have contributed meaningfully to society, is a huge tragedy for their families and the state.

He emphasized that the incident reinforces the importance of the ongoing campaign by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration for systematic investment in youth development across communities.

Hon. Agha Mba reiterated that rather than mourning alone, efforts should be channeled towards doing the right thing by following the government's message and initiatives already in place to empower the youth.

“It's quite pitiable and highly regrettable, the way and manner we lost such able bodied youth, who would have been contributing positively to the development of their families and the society.

“However, it goes a long to buttress the campaign by Mr. Governor on the necessity of ‘Ndi Anambra Jiri Biri’ investing seriously and systematically in the development of the youth of their communities.

“This kind of incident is not just about crying but trying to do the right thing and the follow the message of Mr. Governor,” he stated.

The Commissioner highlighted the 1Youth2Skills Solution programme of the Anambra State Government, which has successfully produced youths who are not only productive within Nigeria but also globally competitive. He noted that the government, through the Ministry of Youth Development, is prepared and has created the right platforms to equip the youth with skills that ensure economic productivity and reduce the lure of illicit ventures abroad.

Meanwhile, it will be recalled that Governor Chukwuma Soludo had earlier revealed that 23 Anambra indigenes are currently on death row in Indonesia over drug-related offences. Speaking on April 9, 2025, during an event where members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Governor Soludo lamented the deception by some native doctors who falsely assure drug traffickers of invisibility through charms.

“Go to Indonesia, 23 Ndi Anambra are on death row there for drug-related offences. These native doctors will deceive you that they will prepare a charm that when you carry drugs and enter the airport, the white man’s scanner will go blind,” the Governor had stated.

Howbeit, the State Government has continued to urge the youth to take advantage of available empowerment programmes and avoid illegal and dangerous pursuits abroad.

Obi won't react over this matter.

By the way, was this the reason he went to Indonesia in the first place to seek their release ?

Let us kiss the bitter truth.
Anambra people should talk to their kinsmen abroad.
They are known for drug trafficking and other violence crime.
Go to China, we have many of them serving jail terms for drug related offences.
They were the ones that flooded South Africa, mostly Johannesburg with drugs, that led to why some South African's see every Nigeria as a drug trafficker.
In India you see them in prison for the same drug trafficking.
Not that other tribes in Nigeria do not involve in drug trafficking, but the Anambra boys are just too alarming.
They should talk to their children.

Why lie?

The commissioner made this statement just yesterday announcing their execution.

Solodu was the one who mentioned in April of their conviction and sentence to death.

The Indonesian authorities carried out the sentence this past week.

Why are you lying that it is old news dating back to 2016?

OR

Since Atiku Abubakar wanted another 8 years for the North when Buhari was just rounding up his 8 years and Buhari and his kitchen cabinet did support Atiku against the South, Tinubu may just handover to a Yoruba man from Kwara or an Igbo from Kogi and Wike as VP, after all Kwara and Kogi are North Central states. The Northern Oligarchy go cry tire

The commissioner is not privy. Google it yourself and find out.
I don't support drug trafficking though. And will never indulge in that but the information is false

No cry, no cry, no cry.

They will send their bodies home for burial, you can then organise a befitting burial

Obi the shameless failure and packaged fraud, who only knows how to dishonestly gaslight others for political profit, should bow to Soludo who is his total opposite as far as talented, druven and focused leadership goes.

Soludo is making huge forward strides in Anambra today. The citation below about Soludo's view on youth development, regarding this sad episode in Indonesia, only highlight how much Obi, who did nothing for Anambra youths in 8 years as Governor, belongs in the political dustbin of Nigeria.

He emphasized that the incident reinforces the importance of the ongoing campaign by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration for systematic investment in youth development across communities.

Was the commissioner who decried their execution in office in 2016?

Was Solodu the governor of Anambra in 2016?

You read how Solodu mentioned their arrest and conviction in April of this year and you also read the commissioner announcing their execution.

You guys are trying in your lame way to dissociate Obi's wasteful visit to Indonesia from this execution.

Try harder.

Nigeria does not have ambassadors and we are okay like that. The government is thinking about the next election but has no ambassadors. Wonderful

10+ years ago when the likes of Femi Falana, Abike Dabiri were trying to save people from death row executions, what Indonesia was that? Femi's Adopted Indonesia? 🤡

I know there are many political miscreants sponsored on this forum but when AIT was still AIT, there was a very popular case that Femi Falana tried to save the young man. This was around 2007, anyone who knows that case should please reference it.

Okay. I have your time.

No1. The news was 2016 both Soludo and the commissioner are just resorting to cheap blackmail.

No2. Peter Obi has no business with what happened. He visited Indonesia as a privete citizen and not in any governmental capacity.

No3. So you believe he should ask Indonesia to change their laws because the people involved are from Anambra? That's Tribalism and is a trait of Tinubu not Peter Obi.

No4. About the law itself, it's not a bad law and Indonesia won't bethe first to have such laws. Even Nigeria most highly sought country UAE, also has that law.

No5. Peter Obi went there to study their electricity for benchmarking purposes, not their laws.

No6. It's not a recent news but if it were, it shows the failure of Soludo in curbing drug trafficking in Anambra.
