Our education is not the best but it is not very poor. A lot of my friends in different field can compete with their counterparts in any part of the world. I don't know why you people lie so much against your country. As at year 2002, America had more than 3000 universities. That's America alone. Our universities are ranked around 1000 best. Does that not tell you we have our universities ranked higher than so many Americans universities?

Fine, let agree we have them there and that it is OK to be 1000th ranked, what percentages of mushroom universities being created by politicians are among those ranked? And how many of even the politicians send their wards to the universities they proliferate and make cheap? If I create universities and don't send my kids there, doesn't that say something about my faith in the schools I established?
Bros, stop being emotional about this issue, I am a patriotic Nigerian, I believe good things can do come out of Nigeria but not because our system have format or is being run properly to inspire any hope but rather because I believe that God has not totally left us and in as much as God is present, good things will somehow always happen. Aside that, our situation looks hopeless. Nothing is working, it is mediocrity everywhere.

America and India alone have close to 10000 universities, please add other countries and see the number of universities we have around the world. Then if there are estimates of 25,000 or probably more Unis around the world, how come you rate 1000 poor?

My point is that university education is a premium service and it is not cheap. No premium service is cheap and in addition, not for everyone. In 2002 when I was thinking of studying in America, one of them that I met in school gave me the very tip that made a US Uni offered me an admission.

Again, the public Unis have more "percentage" in the rank than the private.

Well if you consider my opinion poor, it's your freedom to do so. However when I say our educational system has become poor, I mean every word I say. I have worked close to the system to see it. I am a professional and what I meet everyday among our fresh graduates in the course of my practice doesn't leave much to be happy about. Bro there are some few public universities which because of their histories and pedigrees continue to attract the best among the candidates and thus leverage on that to remain relevant. Many others of our universities however aren't that lucky, they admit from the lowest in the pot and with dearth of infrastructures and qualified teaching personnel, they don't much to impact the student while they go through the system and to imagine that we keep proliferating these schools to increase the number without adding anything to the quality makes our situation terribly bad.
