What is inside the bms that regulate charging?
Do you depend on the bms to regulate your charging for you? Like using a charger of 15 - 20v and depend on the bms to regulate the charging?

I don't do any of the above?

But the above is mostly what guys do on YouTube where most of you depend on.

Again, I don't depend on YouTube because most of them copy and paste another person's idea. The cycle continues....
Baba a bms is the last stronghold to protect your battery if your charge controller or ac charger fails in the future. I have seen cases where a charge controller reverts to its default settings on its own, what do you think will happen in the absence of a bms and the charger sends about 14.7v to your 12.6v setup

Can the same occur with a bms?
Can a bms fail too?
Can a buck converter fail?
If you have seen or experience such it is a rare occurrence.
I don't argue blindly bro but there is a very big sense in what u mentioned in a reverse cc. Nice!

Nevertheless, it won't burst into flames. Cheap or unbranded/extracted cells will do.

Reasons I don't build packs with unbranded cells.

Your point is noted too again.

The assumption of your 12v ideology is 1million percent super wrong grin.

Retract the part that says "I don't know why people build 12v system"......

If you build a 12v system wrongly, you don't need to generalize it.

Can you state the difference between 50ah at 24v and 100ah at 12v?

Just last night I deliberately drew 18.7a on the system above-- 6 bulbs, freezer, 2 fans, charging, 32" tv, Decoder--- cable didn't even get warm.

Note: Most cars use 12v battery including
Rechargable fans
Solar kits
Bikes

Why do phone chargers get hot converting 220v to a very small 5v?

Why do car tyres and engines get hot after driving ?

An ordinary powerbank of 5v is enough to light up and charge phones..

E b like say you hit my kidney this morning. grin

NOTE: 24v is great, 48v is very sweet but don't condemn a working 12v system since our energy need differs and the way we all manage energy differs.

Those is band A will manage energy better than band D users.

Mind you am on 12v off-grid.
lol, phones that support fast charging don't charge at 5v, rather they charge at 9v upwards so as to reduce current on the wires, 5v at 5a is 25w and 12v at 2.5a is 30w, the 12v option is more efficient. Running a 1000w load on 12v is around 83a while the same load on a 24v system is around 41a. The higher the voltage, the more efficient your system becomes. I always recommend to customer that if your load is less than 500w, a 12v system is okay for you, more than 500w, go for 24v, more than 2500w go for 48v

the bms will cut off charging immediately one of the cells reach the over voltage protection limits

220v to 9v is the difference not still large? grin
Mind you 24v don't come cheap. This is the angle most of you don't see?

12v 100ah and 24v 100ah is twice the amount.

I don't even pull up to 150w except during iron dat does 300w and washing machine 280w. Manage your energy wisely.

Basic needs of people are just simple electronics and that is the angle most belong to. This is my line of view.

You get me wrong, am not condemning 12v
after all you your self said 24v is great and 48v is sweet, that's the same thing am saying why not go for great and leave 12v for small appliances.

I believe you know that most people are upgrading to 24v or even 48v, and charging is not easy you will need to change almost everything from charger to inverter, that's why am saying it's better to start with great as you said 😉
With which fund?
You can afford it doesn't mean everyone can afford same.

If u start with 24v and want to upgrade to 48v, you will still change your inverter last last.

Bro 12v is not for small small appliances. Get this point first. That line of thought degrades a 12v system.

Cars run on 12v while trucks/big buses run on 24v because their energy demand differ. However both will convey you to your destination.

Dolkarnaira know what his doing and he understands battery very well, if you're the type that is just learning DIY, please BMS is a most for you, a pro can do without BMS because they know what to do.

Though they look the same trust me 24v is far better and it will save your wire.
e. g if your appliance is 350w and you connect it to your 12v battery it mean you will need to draw 29Amp from the battery but if you connect the same appliance to 24v you will only draw 14Amp.

Sincerely I don't know why people build 12 battery
the 12v battery I build are just for phone charging and bulb lightning only

Although if you started with 12v it will be hard to change inverter, I wish I even started with 48v, it will not give your wire much stress
isn't the wire meant to handle such load?
I have used both 12v and 24v, 24v is only better in terms of charging.

In as much as I haven’t done much research on the “Balancer” he talked about, I do believe that BMS, aside protecting your Cells from overcharge or over discharge , it also helps to balance your indivual cells across your system.

If you don’t use a BMS, and maybe a cell in your system has a fault, it will affect the entire system by creating an imbalance which will ultimately damage all the cells, and you say bye-bye to your System. O pari.

Lastly, Common BMS (not the smart ones) are cheaper compared to the “Balancer” which he said is around 120k+.

Na charger be 122k+ mentioned earlier.
Bms has inbuilt "passive" balance.

Active balance maintain the voltage across the cells.

It is not O pari, balance charge each pack and install the right "bms".

Una well done oh, I originally didn't wat to comment but let me just drop this here. NOTE: This is purely my opinion.

The use or not of a BMS has been a long standing debate, however, let's state it that STANDARD PRACTICE recommends that one uses a BMS, over time the standard BMS has evolved and is no longer just an over/under voltage protection to an all-in-one monitoring system, nonetheless for individuals who have the technical and practical knowhow, they can do just fine without one especially in a small to medium size home use scenario; However for most medium to large scale installs, a BMS is a must, Also for beginners the addition of a BMS in your install is highly advised and almost non-negotiable.

In every situation sha we have exceptions and true live experiences have shown us that they work and work well for that matter, @Dollarnaira's case has been seen to work and i actually copied him on one of my builds, and truth be told it has worked flawlessly even though the bank is only used sparingly, but the fact remains that it works.

So like our elders say, he that has teeth let him eat kolanut grin grin grin grin

By the way I don't have such inverter.

When a system works, it is fine.

500w inverter powering a freezer along with initial surge is amazing. Some 1.5kva cannot do it.
Pls what's the brand name of the 500w inverter?
