A Ugandan “leader”?

What kind of leader?

You think you just wake up and build a hospital?

Do you know if they have the doctors and required nursing staff in the area, or can afford equipment for a big hospital that can treat major illnesses like cancer?

It’s not something you just wake up and do because you think you have money.

You will just build an empty, deserted place if you are not careful.

Very simplistic reasoning by OP.
Ah yes, His Excellency, the CEO of Medical Tourism Uganda Ltd. 👏👏 A man who’s ruled for 38 years, watched his own country’s hospitals rot into cobweb museums, and then flies off to Germany whenever his blood pressure skips a beat—because apparently, “you don’t just wake up and build a hospital.” No, no—you wake up, ignore your health ministry, dismiss your own medical schools, build a cathedral for yourself, and outsource your kidneys to Europe. And if you dare question this logic, the healthcare experts in pajamas will remind you how “complex” hospitals are, how “doctors won’t show up,” and why it’s okay for you to die at a clinic without Panadol while the President receives a $200,000 German invoice—funded by your taxes, of course.

But let’s get “complex” with facts since that’s what you’re scared of:

Frankfurt University Hospital – $185 million

Essen University Hospital – $200 million

Viljandi Hospital, Estonia – $90 million

Costa del Sol Hospital, Spain – $90 million

Evora Public Hospital, Portugal – $210 million

That’s five full-scale European hospitals—built, staffed, equipped—for under $500 million total.

Meanwhile in Uganda:

$500 million+ lost every year to “non-essential spending”: convoys, Dubai workshops, and ACs for “fact-finding missions”

$2.2 million/year on VIP foreign medical trips

UGX 417 billion (USD $112M) for just State House operations in 2023

Over $4 billion lost to corruption in the last 10 years

But don’t you dare suggest building a proper hospital in Kampala—because, according to some, that’s just “too simplistic.” Better to fund German healthcare with Ugandan taxes than equip Mulago with a functional ICU.

Uganda could have built ten German-grade hospitals by now. Instead, it built one personal cathedral for a president who doesn’t even use local clinics. What’s next—importing caskets from Austria?

So next time someone says, “It’s not that easy to build a hospital,” ask them: Is it easier to charter a medevac to Berlin every flu season? Because Museveni sure makes that look simple.

He better be ready to be heal in that prayer house when next he is sick.

As for those of you saying there maybe lack of manpower and equipment to run the hospital, is it not in his place to train his subjects for the betterment of his community.

Y'all just spitting rubbish.

Don't blame him. Most of us know God is the Oga Patapata and would love to build structure in his honor free of cost... Yes to build a hospital would have been perfect, provided the Government will handle it else it is another business and can't be subsides with private money
na babangida pikin you be true true

A church is supposed to help us have good morals ... help us to live in harmony ... our brother's keepers ... let us stay clear of the path of immorality... have hearts of compassion and love ... MMto help the poor ...the sick ...the orphans ... .to be contented with what we have and not be covetous ... to share ... ... nor be envious ... nor self centered ... to not exalt ourselves because of our wealth or status ... to instil family values ....etc .....these are values money can't buy.... an investment in harmonious living.

I like the word SUPPOSE, all these values that you have stated have not been achieved in Nigeria from all the evidences we see in the country. We are not our brothers keeper and we do not live in harmony that is why there's a lot of insecurity. We are also highly immoral that is why the rate of hook up is so high among young girls.
Countries like China, Sweden, and Norway with large population of atheists have achieved most of the things you enumerated.
So we must agree that with the proliferation of churches in Nigeria we are still in socioeconomic doldrums.

The elderly make up the majority of the population of both Norway and Sweden.... maybe they would like to fully immerse themselves in all forms of immorality but the body is too worn. Israel is an atheist State ...with a more youthful population. Besides the immorality... gay life style etc... have you noticed how depraved they are when they can systematically slaughter their fellow humans with absolutely no remorse? They lack humanity... empathy...a moral compass that a church or similar spiritual organization is supposed to provide. China is also atheist.... but their population is monitored and do not have the freedom to indulge as other atheist countries . No doubt ..these populations have been doing very well .... running in the front pack in the race of vanity ....but is it really a good thing to gain the world and lose your soul? That's a personal choice ...but if you never had a moral compass ...vanity will always be the choice ...as we see been trending for the last decade
