The United Kingdom has resumed visa application services in Enugu, months after closing its centre in the city.

Last November, the UK shut down its visa application centres (VACs) in Enugu and Port Harcourt following the launch of its largest facility in Lagos, operated by VFS Global.

At the time, VFS announced that Nigerians applying for UK visas would need to book appointments at VACs in Lagos or Abuja.

The now-reopened centres in Enugu and Port Harcourt were previously managed by TLScontact.

In an update on Wednesday, the British High Commission said visa application services have resumed in Enugu.

“Residents of Enugu, Nigeria, can now enjoy a smooth UK visa process from the comfort of our Premium Application Centre at Omedel Luxury Hotel,” VFS noted earlier.

The agency said applications can be submitted at the Omedel Luxury Hotel.

In Port Harcourt, applications are processed at Hotel Presidential, according to VFS.

I wonder how people think self, person finished school, do NYSC, struggle save 15 million and don't know how to better is life or venture into something to double the investment, or at least pursue master program that will give you an advantage to get a job, to add to that income

UK need to be stopped, they're ripping off our people in the need of visa application fees, they will eat your money without issuing you visa. They will find one ridiculous reason and deny you visa and your money is gone. Imagine doing these to thousands of visa applicants? STOP UKnow.

Northerners rarely relocate to the UK. If they open one, it won't last for one year before shutting down. That's a fact.

Japa is mostly for people in Southern Nigeria and leaving Nigeria in mass has really improved the wellbeing of Nigeria's South in this harsh economy and helped our people actualise their dreams elsewhere in the world.

They need the money!

VFS refused to absolve TLS staff after they were interviewed and submitted their documents.

VFS in other countries took TLS staff, only VFS Nigeria abandoned TLScontact staff after both companies had an agreement.

They fraudulently took the contract from TLScontact and increased the amount for all services

Bigger with less population. Those that migrated from the south has a significant figure to play in the northern population. Especially those staying in Sabon gari. Just noise with nothing to show for it. I'm not a tribalistic person nor see a region better then the other. You made me to pour out this. I've worked in most northern states (if not all). The highest population should be Kano and Kaduna which you have a good number of people from the south.

I'm a little concerned about this news only coming from "The cable" and no other news outlet picked up the story, the news is not verified by VFS and the news source didn't state where it was announced. If you goto the VFS website there's no news or option for Enugu/PH as a centre.
