Those years are gone when the notion of a "Powerful North" used to scare the Southerners; Obasanjo used the real regional powers to defeat Buhari in 2003,Despite the ferocious backing of the Muslim North,Yar'Adua Did same in 2007,Jonathan again floored Buhari in 2011.If Not that Tinubu stepped in to HELP Buhari in 2015 by mobilising most parts of the South and the indigenous Christian middle-belts, the Hausa-fulani man would still have been defeated in 2015!!

"The North" were unraveled by the failure of PMB to attain the votes needed to become the President until BAT showed up in 2014 leading to the win of APC in 2015.

Same was repeated in 2023 elections when the almighty North failed to help Alhaji Atiku Abubakar secure the needed votes to put him in the saddle.

I dare say that all regions need each other and no singular region is enough to determine who wins an election in Nigeria - that myth has long been discarded and anyone deluding others that their region alone remains the sole determinant for who bags the elections thus not needing others, will end up crying premium tears when results are out.

All these northerners should come down from their high horses and smell the coffee. They believe they have the numbers largely due to to under age voters and all. Where was the north when Buhari sought the presidency. He won the north yet failed to emerge president until he aligned to get from south in 2015. If the whole south come together as one voice, let's see how north will survive.

This particular strain of madness is very easy to fix.
First off, heighten border control and make sure they don't head the immigration or customs.
In the lead up to the election, roll out raids across the country especially up North to deport as many undocumented foreigners.
Then, census must happen before the elections, with advanced techs like fingerprint being at the core of the process.
Lastly, we already have iRev and Bvas, integrate more of this type of technologies into our electoral system.
