Please is it true while traveling on united airline to Canada with few hours layover in Washington or any other US airport that you required a valid US visa for that layover/connecting flight

Nicols:
Guys please I need your advice regarding this biometrics info on my status. I did my biometrics since March 21 in Lagos. What could have been the reason for this and how do I rectify it?
You biometric already on file and you can see the expire date of 2035 so dnt worry about what other part of the profiles says

I applied for a tourist visa on the 21st of March,2025. With a used/expired US visa and a 2years UK visa. Got my biometrics invite on the 22nd. Did my biometrics on the 26th. It's been a month now. Still hopeful it comes out in time.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Milito: 7:48am On Apr 28, 2025
Hello guys, is the biometrics fee also paid online on IRCC site or at VFS site?

If both are paid on IRCC, are they paid together or separately?

I gathered Visa fees is CAD100. What's the cost for biometrics pls?

Can local card be used for biometrics payment or both payments must be done with an international card?

You dnt need to book anyticket and if you qualify for visa then you will get it and document you listed is good enough but still the visa officer is the ultimate decision maker .good luck

Hello everyone,

Ardent reader here—thanks for all the helpful tips so far! I’ve just completed my visa application and about to make payment. I was asked to upload my US visa, passport data page, and NIN.

I also added Form IMM5645e and a one-page cover letter under additional documents. Just want to confirm I’m on the right track.

Also, what’s a decent amount to indicate as funds for a 13-day trip?

Appreciate your thoughts—thanks in advance

Thank you! And what are your thoughts on how the organizers of the retreat should position themselves to increase chances of being approved. It's not a generic conference so they may not have the conference registered with IRCC. and sponsors are also the organizers of the events.

To be honest, the chances of approval lie more with the applicant than the event organizers. Many have abused the conference visa route in the past to claim.asylum, and unfortunately, Nigeria is now flagged as high-risk for such applications. So even if the organizers do everything right, it's still a big challenge to get approved . that's just the reality right now.so just submit ur application and hope for tbe best.

2,000 - 3,000 dollars is okay . For my own visa i put 4,000 dollars for a stay of 3 weeks.

Your visa with your US visa included will be approved in less than two weeks. Congratulations in advance.

No, I don't have a valid US VISA. Though I have been to the US 10years ago and was denied renewal twice in 2019. I applied with my 5years old daughter.

Documents I submitted
1- 6 months bank statement. I had a total of 11million naira in my account.

2- my company introduction letter

3- visas of the places I have travelled to in the past including UK

4- NIN

5- Invite letter from a canadian citizen.

The system malfunctions sometimes, but eventually works. Keep trying. It will eventually go through

Good afternoon everyone,

I sincerely appreciate this group and all the knowledgeable people providing help. Thank you.

I would appreciate your guidance on an issue regarding my recently approved Canadian visa. I applied for the visa in February and received approval in April, along with a request to submit my passport. However, I was informed that the validity of the visa would be tied to the expiration of my previously submitted biometrics, which is set to expire in September 2025.

Unfortunately, I was unaware that visa validity is linked to biometric expiry. I had assumed it was based solely on the passport’s validity. When I submitted my application, I received a notification stating that my biometrics were still valid, so I did not attend a new appointment—even though I had already paid the biometric fee.

Upon realizing this in April, I wrote to IRCC on April 4 to explain the situation and to request a new biometric instruction letter so that I could complete a fresh biometric submission and potentially extend my visa’s duration. As of today, May 1, I have not received a response.

Could you kindly advise if this delay is normal, and what next steps I can take to ensure my request is addressed?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by adelforreal: 11:45am On May 01, 2025
I will advise that you submit your passport to IRCC first to have your visa stamped so that the 30 day rule for submission won't elapse since they are yet to respond to you. Once the visa expires in september, you can renew with ease since you will be eligible for CAN plus by then and also get a longer visa duration as you will doing a fresh biometric scan. All the best
