Kimbeast:Hindsight is 20/20 for the emboldened. At the start of the season, pundits had Madrid as UCL favourites along with City. They were also tipped to win Laliga by a landslide after the addition of Mbape. On Xavi, he's not a terrible coach we know. I mean he won the league just two years ago but he's not Flick or Enrique level. He's not a world class coach. In the season Barca won the league, Barca was sent to the Europa. Enrique or Flick is not playing Europa with that squad, no way. Even in the Europa, they got knocked out by a Manchester United team that lost to relegation threatened Sevilla in the quarters. The point I'm trying to make is this, coach is a very important aspect of football, I'll prefer a better coach than 11 world class players on each position. Give me 6 or 7 world class players with a better coach like prime Pep and I'll be very comfortable with the chances of my team. The same squad people complained week in week out under Lampard, Tuchel took it and won UCL. Koeman had Barca in 14th position, Xavi came mid season and took same team to 2nd. Wolves, Everton, same. This season, Valencia were on the verge of getting relegated, the new coach came in and they're now somewhat safe. May be new manager bounce but there's Amorin who took united from top to bottomless pit. Coach is very key in my opinion. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:I hope you saw where I called him not world class and behind Enrique and Flick. But a coach who won the league is not terrible nah. What's hard to understand there lol. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:Xavi is not a terrible coach naa why do Barca fans hate him so much like he didn't win trophies for Barca? He tried his best when barca was fucking broke and promoted lamasia kids. He was off the 2nd season doesn't make him bad. You guys don't appreciate him enough. Another coach wouldn't have given yamal and other boys chance to shine. |

NinjaMetahuman:So mbappe joined last summer yet you attributed their laliga win last season to him. Make it make sense. How did mbappe win a laliga title when he wasn't a real Madrid player? |

AirBere:At the start of the season no ball has been kicked so it was all prediction going by their last season performance. I am talking about Performance of Madrid this season compared to last. Barca current performance has been helped by the inconsistency of Madrid and their drop of form. If Madrid was on top form and leading the table no one will be praising Flick. When Madrid was 10points clear at the table in December the same Barca fans turned on Flick. |

Kimbeast:There will always be useless fans who will turn on a coach no matter how good or bad Coach wey dem give only one signing wey be injury prone with many academy players We still have some fans who are still turning on flick as I speak ,we call them xavisexuals |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by AirBere: 11:26am On May 01, 2025 |
Kimbeast:Both teams started the season pretty good though. Mbape started the season with two trophies so football was actually kicked. What's your point bro? Lemme clarify myself to avoid confusions. I'm saying I'll always prefer a better coach mixed with 6 or 7 top class players than having 11 or more world class players scattered around the team. Flick is the difference for Barca same with PSG with Enrique. Without Flick or another top class coach, nobody will be talking about Barca this season. Just like last season where nobody took them seriously under Xavi. That's my whole point. Their squad is great but not better than Madrid's or may be they're same level I don't know. I think you're actually making my own point. If Madrid had a better coach, they'll be playing better and keeping up with expectations. Coach is always very key in my opinion 🗝️ |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by MorataFC: 11:32am On May 01, 2025 |
AirBere:First of all, finishing in the top 3 or top 4 is not the target for a team like Chelsea. We buy players and hire coaches to win the top prize. Secondly, are you saying this squad is good enough to achieve dat ? I don't believe u.😂😂😂 |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by AirBere: 11:40am On May 01, 2025 |
MorataFC:I know it's not the target but when you fall into a pit, it's always difficult to climb back out immediately. Top 3 won't be bad, build confidence and go for the top prize. There are other teams like City, Liverpool, Arsenal all fighting for that one title. So a top 3 finish is good enough for current Chelsea this season. With Flick, Enrique or any world class coach, Chelsea will be fighting for Title in a season or two. Be honest, were you expecting Liverpool to win the league under Slot? |

NinjaMetahuman:At the bolded, here you have it. Very poor mentality to have as a coach. No wonder he lost 3️⃣ straight classico last season. Was knocked out by Frankfurt at home in the Europa League. Mid table Manure also in Europa League. The only addition in this team is Olmo. All these players were underperforming under Xavi maybe except Dembouz. You have Araujo and Marc winning man of the match award everyday

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 11:46am On May 01, 2025 |
AirBere:The point is Madrid dropped off from last season . The Madrid Xavi went head to head with last season is not the same Flick is going head to head with. Their performance this season has been terrible compared to last. Maybe Complacency from winning the league and champions league. Xavi might have still won the league if he went head to head with this current Madrid. You are not recognizing the circumstances surrounding the issue instead you are going at it one way. If a coach finishes 2nd with 91points losing to a rival with 95points, then gets sacked and a new coach comes in the next season and wins the league with 85points while their rival with 80points. Did the sacked coach perform poorly or lesser than the current coach? |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:Post the full article. How does pointing out Barca won't be able to compete with Madrid and other European clubs financially a bad mentality . Is your club not broke?

Kimbeast:Lol, it seems you're not getting my point though so I'll soon relax. I'm saying having a good coach mixed with world class players is better than having more world class players with an average coach. Klopp won 1 league title in 9 years yet if Xavi were to win Laliga 3 times in a row, nobody will say he's better than Klopp. In fact, some Liverpool fans will still tell you that they prefer Klopp despite Slot winning the league so comfortably My whole point is that I always lean towards having top coaches instead of more world class players. Barca is where they are today because of Flick. May be next season Alonso will dominate and take Madrid to the top again. It's not about what Xavi did or didn't do. It's about siding with better coaches with elite mentality. We have a coach who said Chelsea were not in the title race when they were in fact in it. Those are the things I'm against. The first person I quoted should understand my whole point. It's about "coach" Take Flick to Madrid and Arsenal isn't beating them home and away with a 5:1 agg score line. I'm saying that "COACH" is always very key 🗝️ |

AirBere:Of course a good coach is important. There are also other factors to consider when comparing a current coach to their predecessor. You mentioned Xavi and said they are here because of Flick without adding context. That was the issue I had with your post. It's like calling Klopp a poor coach for not winning the League last season because slot did it this season. Why are you not criticizing Klopp for failing to win the league last season with the same squad? Lol legendary coaches have been beaten home and away. Pep was beaten home and away by Bayern 5:0, The same Enrique was beaten home and away last season by Dortmund. |

Kimbeast:Lol, very good. Now you get it. It's true legendary coaches lose home and away too. Whole point is that I always side towards top coaches with a mixture of class players. So it's all clear now abi 😔 |

It's funny how one season can change a coach reputation. Last season Ancelotti was the cream of the crop now he is outdated. No one was hyped about Enrique last season now he is the media darling. Amorim was highly rated before the season started and even up till November now some fans at United want him sacked. If Arteta wins the champions league he becomes a great coach and no longer a nearly man. If Barca flops next season same people praising Flick will turn on him |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by MorataFC: 12:22pm On May 01, 2025 |
AirBere:I disagree with the bolded that a coach is the sole key to a team’s success. While I do agree that a good coach can implement strong tactical approaches and get the best out of his players, even the most brilliant coach cannot achieve much if he's managing a poor or unbalanced squad. No matter how tactically astute a coach may be, he needs quality players and a solid team structure to succeed. So it's the team that makes the difference. Look at Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League , teams don't fear them simply because of who is their coach they fear Madrid because of the strength, depth, the brand and identity of the club itself. Coaches come and go, but the legacy and quality of the team endure. Take Carlo Ancelotti for example. He managed Everton for two seasons and couldn't guide them to a top-four finish, despite his vast experience and tactical knowledge. Then, midway through that same season, he was hired by Real Madrid. In less than three years, he won two Champions League titles and a La Liga trophy. The same coach, but drastically different outcomes , not because he suddenly improved, but because he had a world-class squad at his disposal in Madrid There’s no doubt that a good coach can elevate a strong team and maximize its potential. However, without a formidable and well-balanced squad, even the best managers will struggle. In football, the name of your club determines caliber of players you bring in, then it's the duty of a good coach to shape them into champions. so the team is the foundation, the coach enhances it, but he can't replace it. |
