raumdeuter:Lewandowski won Burndisleaguedown 10 times as striker and Kane is about to win the Burndisleaguedown with a poor coach from English championship. In your last 10 Burndisleaguedown title wins, how many times did you win it without a striker? |

raumdeuter:I disagree. IMO,good coaches are more important than having good players. Club ambitions are different, Ancelotti didn't take the Everton job too seriously. His sight was on a bigger club. The reason why it is the same talented nations that keep winning the world cup is because other nations do not have world class coaches. A world class would upset the greatest teams with the best players. Zambia in 2012 did not have world class players till that French man used them to defeat ivory coast with better players. He still later won the AFCON with a less talented ivory coast side to lay credence to my point. On the point of Deschamps and Scaloni being mediocre at club level and winning the world cup with better players,it is complete false. The both teams won at the NT because they had them as coaches not the players. You could replace them with any other person and they won't win it. Argentina had better squad in 2010 but lost cheaply to Germany. Imagine that 2010 Argentina squad having pep guardiola at that instead of Maradona? Will the germany have won? Was Germany not having better squad than Croatia in euro 2008 that Slaven Bilic defeat you guys convincingly? Football success is about coaches not players, sadly the world give credit to players instead of the coaches. |

raumdeuter:The same Ancelotti also coached Juventus with world class players like zidane but didn't win the UCL just so you know. |

popizaino:Did Ancelotti tell you he didnt take Everton seriously? What of Napoli? He didnt take them seriously? So its only at Madrid that he can be serious popizaino:The same Marcelo Lippi who won the world cup for Italy cannot win for China, Jogi Loew who won the world cup for Germany was a 3rd grade coach, Scolari that won for Brazil where else has he used his magic wand to win, Mancini won the Euro with Italy when will he win with Saudi Take away the top players and most coaches will look mediocre On the point of Deschamps and Scaloni being mediocre at club level and winning the world cup with better players,it is complete false. Was Germany not having better squad than Croatia in euro 2008 that Slaven Bilic defeat you guys convincingly?Take Deschamps to Cameroun and let him make a world cup final or take Scaloni to USA and let him win the world cup. Southgate was penalties away from winning the Euros, I am sure you will say Southgate is also a great coach. Let Southgate go and coach Georgia and see if he will get close to any final |

raumdeuter:Both are important but I lean slightly towards the coach to be very honest. International football requires less time for practice/tactical drilling. Flick and Enrique are too tactically rigid(They're great but obsessed with tactics). Luis Enrique won nothing with Spain too. International football is different and requires flexibility with little time for tactical implemention. I think Carlo will do well here. He's more flexible with tactics. At club level, a team with an elite coach, 5-6 top players with other serviceable players will beat a team with 11 world class players with Ryan Giggs, Steve Bruce, Marc Hughes, Paul Ince, Gary Neville, Roy Kean as their head coach. ![]() Another example is two teams with 11 world players each. But one is managed by prime Pep and the other is managed by Russel Martin. On paper, there's only gonna be one winner here. |

popizaino:Compare the materials he had at Juventus to AC Milan or Madrid At Milan Dida, Cafu Nesta Maldini Kankulovski, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf Kaka Shevchenko Inzaghi. ABout half that team are mentioned as all time greats in their position (Cafu, Nesta Maldini Pirlo, Kaka Seedorf Sheva) In Madrid he coached Casillas, Carvajal Ramos Pepe Marcelo Khedira Kroos Modric Ronaldo Bale Benzema. About half of this team are also regarded in all time conversations in their positions |

AirBere:Why do you think Madrid or most top clubs will have 5 world class players yet look for more world class players to fill other positions? Madrid was winning with Bravo yet went to buy Cortuois to join the already loaded squad, Barcelona had Alexis Sanchez yet went to add Neymar to their already loaded squad, Man city has world class players yet went to add Haaland |

AirBere:Or lets try this hand over Madrid to Russel Martin and let Pep coach Remo stars. Stay for 12month training and let them play 5 matches and see who wins A coach can make a difference when the talent level is close, Not when its far. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by AirBere: 5:48pm On May 01, 2025 |
raumdeuter:No wahala, but I lean towards having an elite coach, 6-7 world class players, some serviceable players then hope for the best. In addition to this, having more world class players can also affect team performance. It affected Barca in a way. Affected Madrid in the Galactic era and I think it has affected them too this season. For Barca, it affected them in a way that when they were a goal down, they couldn't make a sub. Enrique couldn't substitute Neymar, Suarez or Messi no matter how poorly they performed. Enrique would rather just sub Rakitc instead of Suarez or Neymar even in games where Ney was bad and Raki was better. This cost them the UCL. Ancelloti only started to develop balls to sub off Vini after the season was somewhat done. In the past, he'll never try it. Having more world class players can be a problem. I prefer a mixture of both but lean towards coaches. |

raumdeuter:It seems you didn't understand my point sha In a hypothetical scenario, if we give the all conquering Barca team of 2009 to Russel Martin and do same for Pep, who's coming out on top? I'll lean towards pep. Another scenario, if we give prime Pep a team of 6-7 world class players with other serviceable players and do same for Russel, who comes out on top, I'll still lean towards Pep. Now, if we give prime Pep a team of 6-7 world class players with other serviceable players and give Rusel Martin a team of 11 world class players, who comes out on top? Tricky, but I'll still lean towards Pep. This has been my point all along. By prime Pep, I mean all versions of Pep except the one of this season. |

Ihebu4chelsea: Ibime:But how na? Livarpool had him and still went to Spain to sign their future replacement for allison, even that cup final they lost to Newcastle I believe it would be different if allison started cause the guy small like kepa and also has few errors when playing from the back. Elliott also isn't the one of 17 years old that everybody turned prophet for saying he would cook everybody in a few years time, is he not also injury prone. With petrovic and taking a risk with paez or even estevao I think we can sort those areas if we don't look elsewhere. |
