@The Gurus in the house.

I would like to try the Federal skilled Trades Program route as I have been in the Federal EE pool with 384 CRS and no ITA.
I studied Electrical Electronic Engineering and currently into repairs of phones and electronic gadgets. Under the requirements it's said that one should have a valid job offer from a Canadian
employer for at least 1 year
• Alternatively, have a certificate of
qualification in your skilled trade issued by a
Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

Kindly assist on how best to go about getting the certificate of qualification while here in Nigeria and which body should I contact also.

Your best bet may be to learn French. Also see where you can improve scores e.g. rewriting IELTS or additional years of WE

What do you think about writing PTE I heard it's the simplest and one can use it for EE too.

I can understand your point of view exactly as it is, believe me. But this incoming "party/government" means different things (in terms of the benefit and the shortfalls) to different group of people (immigrants, people in the pool etc). For instance, I am happy that education category was added but transportation category guys are unhappy because they were removed from category draws. For me, Liberal winner means continuity of the current liberal immigration rules and that means education category is here to stay, but a Conservatives win, there'll definitely be a Total overhaul of the system and it'll get more difficult although i believe its the conservatives that can truthfully acknowledge the unemployment crises and tackle it. I'm quite empathetic to everyone's cause but man still gatz look out for himself...lol. I hope you understand... May the best man win!
Seems like conservatives would have slashed overall PR Admission to 200,000 to 250,000 annually and linking PR Admission to housing availability in canada,if there is unavailability of housing more cuts on PR Admissions and this means decreasing economic migration, won't favour any category in the pool with 200k PR target, and TWP only to address labour shortages like agriculture and jobs that Canadians won't do,while Liberal intends to stabilise PR Admission to less than 1% of the population and priorities on those already in Canada for PR, increasing francophone Admission to 12% of PR admissions by 2029 .

House please I need your help, this issue is breaking my heart.. I have a Bsc and Msc in biochemistry but do not have biochemistry work experience. I was advised to choose a healthcare field in my PR application.. the challenge I have now is age is not on my side so I want to apply through PNP or RCIP. The challenge is how do I apply for jobs that I truly qualify for when my PR application is in healthcare? Can my profile be edited?

Jobs are very hard to find in Ontario right now unemployment is rising, and competition is tough. With Trump’s new tariffs on Canadian goods, things are getting worse since 80% of Canada’s exports go to the U.S., hitting many manufacturing industries hard. But tell the person not to give up. Keep applying, tailor their resume for each job, network on LinkedIn, and try temp agencies like Adecco or any around ur area Persistence still pays off.

Hello please, I am a medical doctor, please how long does it take for you to get your ECA number after your credentials have been verified? Do I need to write to the MCC, it's almost a month since I was told my credentials are verified, Do I need to write? Or wait? Because there's no mention of the ECA on the site for me. I really don't know what to do? Also is express entry, or applying for PR, still a good option for a medical doctor as of right now, may 2025?. I will appreciate your prompt responses, thank you.

Honestly, this is the kind of planning that should have been done before starting your study journey in Canada. With your profile BSc in Computer Science, years of experience working as a personal assistant/manager for your dad, plus NYSC office experience—you likely could have pursued permanent residency directly from abroad through the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program by simply acing the IELTS and adding a recognized certification like a BCS certificate in computing. My cousin had a similar background and got picked through the last year draw.

However, based on your current situation, here’s the reality: unless you declared this past work experience in your initial study permit application, IRCC may challenge it if you try to claim it later in Express Entry. They're becoming stricter about inconsistencies between study permit and PR applications. And attach below is a student in canada pr application pfl and later refused!

My advice:

1. Create your Express Entry profile as soon as possible and add ur canada diploma when u graduate

2. Focus on getting a high IELTS score to boost your CRS.

3. Try to get a skilled job during your PGWP period, because one year isn't a lot of time and many students are currently stuck due to poor planning.

4. Be clear about your past job roles. When you say you worked for your dad, what specific duties did you perform? That will determine the NOC you can claim.

5. And importantly, you’re not yet above 30 because once you cross that age, your CRS points for age start dropping. So act now while you still have that advantage.

The idea that studying in Canada automatically leads to PR is a myth. It takes a clear, well-planned path.especially with the way things are changing now.

It appears political parties mattered less in this election. MArk Carney was voted in amid liberal's low standing . Mark Carney is more conservative than liberal. Let's look out for the mandate letters and get a clearer picture of his immigration plan.
