A Nigerian national, Okenyehike Kelvin Obianke, has been formally charged before a Malaysian Magistrate Court for allegedly biting off the ear of a police officer during a confrontation outside a clinic in Kepong.

The disturbing incident occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. on April 25, 2025, in front of a clinic located in the Metro Prima area. Authorities say the victim, a police officer attached to the Sentul District Police Headquarters’ mobile patrol unit, sustained serious injuries after Obianke reportedly bit off his left ear during an altercation.

Appearing in court, Obianke pleaded not guilty to the charge, telling the magistrate that the act was not intentional.

The court has since denied bail and adjourned the case to June 10 to allow time for legal representation to be arranged for the accused and for relevant documents to be submitted.

Court officials confirmed that proceedings will resume once a defense counsel is appointed. The case has drawn attention both locally and abroad, given the unusual nature of the alleged assault and the involvement of law enforcement.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details regarding the motive behind the incident.
