toscotech:Rumors say that lithium is been illegally exploited in parts of nigeria by chinese. You can put 1 or 2 together. ![]() |

HeavenlyBang:the deal is too good, 3.5kwh for 250k? That's crazy. And I'm seriously looking to expand my storage. |

AndroBlaze:Thanks so much guys for the responses. I am intending to buy the 24V/5kwh lifepo but my fear is how to buy a genuine one or genuine brand as I did a market survey earlier today and saw several brands with varying prices. Please how do I tell a genuine 24V/5kwh lifepo4 and what brands in the market are good though I have a moderate budget. I am considering buying TashaEnergy 24V/5kwh lifepo but I am not very sure if it is a good and reliable brand Cc: Omotoda brightk AndroBlaze bassdow |

bassdow:Please can you suggest any relays I can use. I am good at fixing electrical things |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AndroBlaze: 9:33pm On May 01, 2025 |
numericalguy: He's referencing the maximum charge for a lifepo cell, which he puts at 3.6v, which when converted for a 12v battery is 14.4v. He doesn't believe in charging to that extent. However, most Chinese manufacturers put maximum between 14.4-14.6v, just double it to get the maximum voltage for a 24v lifepo system. As for recommendations for a 24v 5kw, why not chat up Valto? The other option is you drop the names of the batteries you are interested and people give you their experiences with them the same way we did for your inverter. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by numericalguy(m): 9:51pm On May 01, 2025 |
AndroBlaze:The luminous inverter I am using can charge a 24V battery system to 27.5V - 28V at full charge. I will chat up Valto tomorrow Thanks so much |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by iraybuju: 12:37am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:It’s not just a relay bro, you need a 12v step down transformer or any other way to step down 220v to 12v |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:26am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:Just talk to an electrician. That's a good place to start. if you don't know what a relay is, or it's function, can't rally explain to you how to do it. Just talk to electrician, tell them your need, and what someone suggested |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:32am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:That's battery voltage per cell. Has got nothing to do with you |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:35am On May 02, 2025 |
iraybuju:Major reason I suggested he get in touch with an electrician. No sensible electrician would connect a small relay directly to a voltage of 220v |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by numericalguy(m): 3:39am On May 02, 2025 |
bassdow:I know what a relay is. I have a first degree in Electrical engineering and masters degree in Telecommunications engineering. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:42am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:This issue is you're price conscious. See eh, Solar is meant to be a luxury, na situation of things make am come look like a necessity. I for call some brand names for you BUT imitation full market. Would suggest you either contact those in Nairaland that's been recognized as reliable to some extent e.g the Valto guy. Mind you, have got no personal affiliation with him BUT He seem good enough going by the praises He gets in here. Just do your own research sha. Alternatively, go buy directly from Luminous showrooms. Keyword here is DIRECTLY because buying from just any shop, even a big shop doesn't guarantee you getting the real thing. Skimpy max Budget is reason i tend to steer people away from lithium. If you could buy a rubbish Lead acid battery, buying a rubbish Lithium is way way easier. That's even not considering the inherent security issue that might arise. At end of the day, brands like TashaEnergy, cWorth, SMS, etc are all birds of same feather like Gionee, inFinix, Tecno, etc. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 3:45am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:Hopefully you very much aware Electrical engineering, differs from Electronics engineering, which in turn differs from Computer engineering, and even Mechanical engineering ? All na engineering but their fields differs. Me ma be like I chop small small from all fields. I fit prove (with varying degree of accuracy) to be expert in any of the above fields till I meet those who really know their onion. As I still dey, i fit balance double column cashBook, and even handle Balance sheet, and Trail Balances despite not being an accounting student. |

bassdow:I stated my electrical engineering background just to explain that I am not completely ignorant of electrical terms and can understand any explanation perfectly. I am into other fields of engineering now. No one knows it all which is why I need you guys help I always like to buy any electrical materials myself just because of the unscrupulous ways of most installers. It's not only about money but also about safety. |

Please oo, you people should link me to where I'll get original breakers and spd's in Lagos abeg. Also will any regular 48v battery work with the deye inverter so as to be used during the day. I saw 12v batteries at 13k each, will this work or e go burn the system |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:14am On May 02, 2025 |
numericalguy:Good enough BUT with my relay suggestion, buying is not what's only required + there are a couple of other tiny things needed. Don't worry, na electrician go supply you everything. A lot of times, e no even need go market as e fit extract am from all the numerous old panels wey full him shop. Basically, just explain the issue to him, wait for his suggestion; should he have nothing reasonAble, tell him someone suggested using a relay. If He doesn't know what a relay is, abeg run from am. Another thing that could matter is response time as you don't want appliances connected e.g TV, Fridge, etc to trip off and restart when NEPA does their thing BUT no worry, in other not to complicate things, achieve this first. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:17am On May 02, 2025 |
maklelemakukula:So long the inverter supports said Voltage, it would work. As for 12volt batteries at the cost of 13,000 naira each, I go try ignore the price and focus on the fact that you could pair 4 of those batteries in SERIAL to get 48-volts. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by maklelemakukula(m): 9:21am On May 02, 2025 |
