Top Nigerian judge’s document used for selling shawarma in Chad.

In what could merely pass of as a skit, an envelope bearing the stamp of the Chief Justice Chambers of the Supreme Court of Nigeria was found in an awkward place in the Republic of Chad.

Fatima Zhara Umar, Nigeria’s Representative on the Executive Board of Community of Sahel–Saharan States (CEN-SAD), had walked off to a spot to purchase shawarma in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, when she found the unthinkable.

Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern dish consisting of thinly sliced, spit-roasted meat, typically lamb, chicken, or beef, often wrapped in pita bread or flatbread along with vegetables and sauces like tahini or hummus.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Umar shared the part of the envelope with the name of a former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mahmud Mohammed, and revealed that the shawarma she ordered arrived in it.

“I innocently ordered shawarma in Ndjamena and it arrived in this envelope from the Chief Justice Chambers of the Supreme Court of Nigeria”, she wrote.
