How do we deactivate SMS alerts from banks without walking into a physical branch, please? I feel like most bank apps, especially this GTB app are useless. Basic things like this should be possible at the click of a button.

I need to deactivate this f vc ke ry ASAP.
Just find time to go do that in the banking hall bro.
They will give you an indemnity form to fill just to scare you, persuading you not to deactivate it as if their life depends on it.
None of my accounts is having SMS alert activated, I'm cool with my email alert and checking app

A lot of people are complaining about tinubu economy, and at the same time, they expect prices to remain low from banks and telcos.

Well, guess who works for the banks and telcos...yes, Nigerians suffering under tinubu economy. And they too want their probelms eased, or else. And thus their companies know, and raise their salaries, and pass the raise to the consumer.

Also, most of what telcos and banks use is imported. Prices go up.

Nigerians should be realistic.

And no, while I think that tinubu has no business in Aso Rock, the fact is, until we stop depending on oil, we will never escape our problems as is. Too bad Tinubu wants to increase our dependence on oil. And to add more fun...the deficit is risin....

As suggested, go to the banks and ask for assistance.

And download the app too.

you are right he wont lose the elections , he has too many assets to his advantage at the moment, he is incharge of the country and he has a lot of money to throw around
Antiurchins:
I'm an Igbo man, but truth be told.
Tinubu won't lose 2027 election.

First of all, he has never lost any political election since he was born and he will most likely not lose 2027.
He is a genius of Nigerian politics and knows how to gain the support of people, he is also among the richest Nigerian politician still living right now and even richer than Atiku Abubakkar. He will use his money to buy his way again.
He has the power of incumbency and won't be as weak as GEJ not to use it to his favour.
I can bet it that he will most likely not lose the election.
You guys made the mistake of allowing him there, now you guys have to wait for 8yrs

A lot of so called poor people work for the telcos and banks...and they all want to be paid.

Cost of doing business is going up. Fuel has jumped up too

Also, keep in mind that most of the telco equipment is made oversease.

So, at the end of the day, ordinary nigerians must be PAID for doing the jobs that bring services to you.

Plus you really do not need SMS. Get the bank app downloaded, and go to your nearest branch of your bank and get removed from the SMS alat list. It is that simple.

Wetin concern Igbo with tariff increase, are they the owners of the TELCOS or you are just infatuated with calling them out to sell your failed candidates to Nigerians?

Okay, when you run your business, do remember to charge very low prices to help the poor.

Just don't cry when your business does poorly.

You guys, not everyone is out to get you. cheesy

Nigerian banks bill more than the text sent. They charge you for wishing you a birthday.

Nigerian banks keep ripping off their customers while the regulating body keeps speaking rhetoric.
There was a time in this country where your savings no matter how little would gain you interest monthly but for over a decade now rather than gain interest on your savings ,you are the one paying the banks to keep your money.
Dirty and mutilated notes, non- functional Atm's and the likes are the other misnomer against our banks.

Our Obidient minister is working hard!

I informed the bank of my decision to remove SMS alert from my bank package. They gave me a form to fill which includes the details and particulars of another person. And the person must come with you to the bank. I was so lucky I saw a colleague in the bank. Na so he followed me o!

Just to remove SMS o!

At last it was removed. I mean my phone number was removed from their system memory. Even their AI BOT doesn't recognise my number again

Its a dicey situation because you could be more susceptible to fraud if you don't have instant notice of any debit on your account.
Also its not every time one can check email or even have data to check.

Good luck though.
