MCentral:
Its a dicey situation because you could be more susceptible to fraud if you don't have instant notice of any debit on your account.
Also its not every time one can check email or even have data to check.

Good luck though.
Even at that there are many times they send SMSs late. I would have to login to the app before knowing i received funds. And i'll still be debited for the SMS. That's why i love Kuda now! Seemless email alerts almost immediately you send/receive funds!

But email is slow na. And you will be putting on data to receive alerts on app!
Nope, it's faster than SMS. SMS might not drop due to network issues, but as long as your internet is connected, the email will drop.

I'm an Igbo man, but truth be told.
Tinubu won't lose 2027 election.

First of all, he has never lost any political election since he was born and he will most likely not lose 2027.
He is a genius of Nigerian politics and knows how to gain the support of people, he is also among the richest Nigerian politician still living right now and even richer than Atiku Abubakkar. He will use his money to buy his way again.
He has the power of incumbency and won't be as weak as GEJ not to use it to his favour.
I can bet it that he will most likely not lose the election.
You guys made the mistake of allowing him there, now you guys have to wait for 8yrs
Why do you feel the need to tell us your tribe before writing the nonsense you wrote up there ?

Which kind defeatist mentality be this? or you are using reverse psychology to campaign for him?
So we should just fold our hands and watch and die of hunger and sufferings like chicken?

Which kind cowardise do Nigerians like displaying sef?

There should be a way to disable sms alert for transactions.

OlujobaSamuel:
Just find time to go do that in the banking hall bro.
They will give you an indemnity form to fill just to scare you, persuading you not to deactivate it as if their life depends on it.
None of my accounts is having SMS alert activated, I'm cool with my email alert and checking app
airsaylongcome:
You have to walk into a branch and sign an indemnity form. Physical sign it in ink
nairalanda1:
As suggested, go to the banks and ask for assistance.

And download the app too.
Thanks guys for the advice. Will go ahead and do exactly that.

A lot of so called poor people work for the telcos and banks...and they all want to be paid.

Cost of doing business is going up. Fuel has jumped up too

Also, keep in mind that most of the telco equipment is made oversease.

So, at the end of the day, ordinary nigerians must be PAID for doing the jobs that bring services to you.

Plus you really do not need SMS. Get the bank app downloaded, and go to your nearest branch of your bank and get removed from the SMS alat list. It is that simple.
I get you, . What is the percentage of the poor working with the telcos? Second, whose fault is it that the cost of doing business is going high? govt, of course. If the govt wants the poor to breathe, they will know what to do to bring down the cost of doing business. Abi i lie? They said we should vote them bc they knew what others didnt know to give us good governance; now they seem lost and bereft of ideas to govern. The poor is always at the receiving end Q.E.D

How do we deactivate SMS alerts from banks without walking into a physical branch, please? I feel like most bank apps, especially this GTB app are useless. Basic things like this should be possible at the click of a button.

I need to deactivate this f vc ke ry ASAP.
You can call their customer service line.

They will send a form to you via ur email address, you will fill it, scan and send back to them.

You may decide to change it to PDF file before u send it.

actually i have taken him to the bank multiple times

i even told him he would have to go by himself to sort this issue but they may start pulling the not an adult story

he goes out on his own well now and it is a source of friction . i told him to go to the jamb venue a day ahead to be sure he could get there, he did, and then instead of coming back home, he proceeded to the home of some of his friends in the area to hang out and did not show until 8pm

the reason i want to set up email is because i gave him and his sister debit cards so they can have cash on hand or get cash from me in an emergency . but i am getting all the alerts and emails and it is messy for audit purposes.

if anything , the boy dey over do. confidently going out at 9pm to the supermarket. ON FOOT. all my warning about police and young men fall on deaf ears. angry angry

Most of the times that the app is down, it's usually a general downtime, so your SMS and ussd might not also work at such times

Lmao! The male instinct to put himself in danger is kicking in. But if I am police, I doubt I can carry him. Except I want his English speaking parents to show up and drop better money. Else I will think he is an indoor kid who strayed and lost his way.

It is nice he has a bit of street in him. They need it to survive Nigeria. He should just run errands and keep the late night out of it. I am sure you can handle him. grin

I just hope we'll have a wealthy, philanthropist Nigerian that will give these people serious competition. Someone like that Indian rich man that slashed the price of internet tariffs in their country. We need a rich man that will genuinely feel for us to invest in almost all the sectors, not all these Dangote, Onyema, Adenuga dem
