Interesting watch
In the introduction of the 3 tribes the commentary noted the following.
Hausas: Steeped in tradition and suspicious of western ideas. Their forefathers, stronger than their neighbours, raided them severely and enslaved them.

Igbos: Eager to learn, sometimes willing to offer their services for free for the betterment of community. They are often used as administrators by the colonial governments.

Yorubas: Devastated by a brutal civil war where large communities were massacred and wiped out. Ibadan, is largest Negro city in Africa.

I'm still watching.......

Commentary.

There can be no solution to Nigeria's problem unless it's population growth is controlled.

As at then, there was no free education in Nigeria.
1 out of 68 children from the north went to school.
1 out of 7 children in the south went to school.

Schools mostly accept whatever fees parents can afford

Only a few northerners were dissatisfied with the pace of progress in the country.

In the South, there are more voices of opposition to British rule. They perceived that Britain was not developing the country fast enough.
The most popular critic of government was Azikwe, who wanted half the civil service to be peopled by Nigerians, with independence in the next 15 (50?) Years.

There was mass education happening particularly in the Eastern region.

I have finished watching.

My opinion is this;
This video made me emotional. We were really in the dark ages just 80 years ago as a people.
Just imagine if Nigeria was like this in 1948, how it was in 1900. Believe it or not, the whites helped bring us out of ignorance within a short period of time.

After watching this video, you may appreciate how far we have come as a country. The amount of infrastructure and progress we have added to this Nation since this video was taken should never be taken for granted.

And regardless of your opinion about Tinubu, Buhari, GEJ and Obasanjo, please never call for the military to take over. Appreciate your democracy and don't take it for granted. That was the intention of our founding fathers; that we become a democratic, educated federation!

lol, the video also said that apart from a few urban areas in Ibadan and lagos, the vast majority was unfit for human inhabitation. And yes, Ibadan has a lot of brown roof today, regardless of how you feel about it

It Should be an embarrassment to you that Ibadan that's supposed to be competing with Lagos in economic activities and physical development is now an eyesore and being joked about as the brōwn rōof headquarters of Nigeria grin after more than 70 years.

I can't but agree with you, no wonder the inhabitants are fleeing in droves.
It's always not about the place, it's all about the people, dig?.
