Maobichek: Not true. The 50 is FGN electronic money transfer levy, which is applicable to all banks. Opay and other Fintech started charging lately. |

GTB is the most annoying, sms alert on transfer charges, sms alert on stamp duty, charges on unsuccessful ussd transactions and they will still send you sms alert on the unsuccessful ussd charges. Imagine sms alert on transfer charges of 10 naira. Depleting your money with them with unnecessary sms alert. Why multiple alerts on a single transaction? |

ShakurMY:How does it help monitor and control account activities? After all it only notifies you of transactions that takes place on ur account. It is far wiser to receive notifications from the bank app itself or subscribe for email service ( which to me is far better that the charged alert service). |

Those glutinous kleptocrats are heartless. They have squandered all the oil money, internally generated revenue, foreign reserves, excess crude servings, Zamfara gold money, etc. Now, you send money for a coffin to bury the dead caused by Tpain suffering, Tinubu cuts his share, you send money for food, Tinubu cuts his share, you transfer money for anything, Tinubu cuts his share. Only in Nigeria, this does not happen anywhere else. |

Love800:Being registered with SEC and CBN does not mean that they have the same strong internal controls, corporate governance and succession plans that commercial banks have! |

Gunayo:It's good you didn't deny the obvious, whether it's FG or CBN, all transfer and money received above 10k via Opay will deduct 50 Naira from both the sender and the receiver, i use Opay so I'm not exaggerating ok! |
| Re: Bank Customers Weigh Options Over Hike In SMS Alert Charges by Maobichek: 12:43pm On May 02, 2025 |
Cti28:It's good you didn't deny the obvious, all transfer above 10k attracts 50 Naira deduction from both the sender and the receiver, i transferred on 3 different occasions yesterday and 50 Naira was dedicated from all the transfer because it was above 10k, thank you. |
| Re: Bank Customers Weigh Options Over Hike In SMS Alert Charges by Gunayo(m): 12:44pm On May 02, 2025 |
Maobichek:what about the some transfer that is free and bonuses you receive when you buy card, data and pay utility bills among others. Can the commercial banks do that? |
| Re: Bank Customers Weigh Options Over Hike In SMS Alert Charges by Maobichek: 12:46pm On May 02, 2025 |
fred04:I use Opay, i have absolutely no gain lying against Opay, i did 3 different transfer yesterday above 10k and 50 Naira was deducted from each of those transfer, even the monies i received that are above 10k, they deducted 50 Naira from my Opay acc. |
