Yusuf Buhari's father was President for 8 years, dude was under the radar. I can't recall him granting any interview. He only made waves when he got into a bike accident and was medivac'd abroad for emergency care.

Seyi Tinubu's dad has been President barely 2 years but he is now the defacto VP, flying Presidential jets and using full State Presidential paraphernalia.

As terrible as Buhari was, he appears a far more decent and prudent President than Tinubu.

I remembered a tv interview from someone that while schooling in UK, nobody in Yusuf class knew that his father was a president.
Some persons knew only from his name and he casually just admits he is Buhari's son

GDP is a function of the local currency of that country. That is how you measure relative GDP for a county.

So if in 2015, your GDP is N100million, then to compare to other countries, you convert to USD at $1 = N250.

If you devalue your currency in 2023, if your GDP is 200million, if you want to compare to other countries same USD is at $1 = 750, then the value drops in $$.

You call yourself an economist, but you don’t know the basic economics. Read below.

Keep your 100k, it won’t buy me comfort for one night in a lounge.

Below is a book review by Princeton University press.

They shared my exact sentiment. If a country devalue their currency, it automatically wipe off the GDP value of you compare them to the rest of the world. It gets complicated.

GDP in itself is measure with time by comparing a country output this year to last year. That is why they say a country is expected to have X% of GDP growth.
