Must you defend every rubbish?
What is rubbish? Southerners are different to Northerners. Life is live and let live. If they prefer docility and behind-the-scene humility then why should that be for all of us?

It is now wrong or a crime to be active, ambitious, charismatic and outgoing as Seyi is? Seyi who is owner of one of the most prominent advertising agency in Nigeria, before his dad became President, should now change his character to be anonymous because Buhari's son was that way?

The comparison, with the insinuation one is better, is just rubbish from disgruntled elements now desperately looking for anything and anyone to use attacking Jagaban.

I would personally be disappointment if my sons dont become outgoing, charismatic, trendy, ebullient and dominant men like their father. May even consider disowning them as I can't stand nerdy or didirin men. Don't have them as friends and certainly don't want them as my children.

Low profile lifestyle pays.

Yusuf is a different person.
I heard an interview from someone that while schooling in UK, nobody in Yusuf class knew that his father was a president.
Some persons knew only from his name and he casually just admits he is Buhari's son

Correct
Belurved1:
It's not about their sons lifestyle but their parental upbringing and other influence. The leadership and political manner of approach of their fathers is completely different, so it'll automatically reflect on their children.

As promised, the Tinubus continued from where the Buharis stopped.
You people can never reject blind hatred of others, PBAT in this case, long enough to see the big picture and what matters most.

When same Northerner tell you that your wife you love should be stoned to death for wearing short skirt in public then accept that view also since you don't seem to understand intolerance is bad and must be condemned.

Let Yusuf do him and Seyi likewise. They are different people entirely and I don't know where in the world being outgoing, ebullient, ambitious, a winner etal is condemned.

In fact, is that not even the definition of Alpha Male most societies consider natural leaders and most desirable male type ? Only in Nigeria haters must turn logic on it's head.

Would appear so. Talk of desperation. Upon that we now understand being outgoing, ambitious, ebullient and a go-getter is now a crime.

GDP is a function of the local currency of that country. That is how you measure relative GDP for a county.

So if in 2015, your GDP is N100million, then to compare to other countries, you convert to USD at $1 = N250.

If you devalue your currency in 2023, if your GDP is 200million, if you want to compare to other countries same USD is at $1 = 750, then the value drops in $$.

You call yourself an economist, but you don’t know the basic economics. Read below.

Keep your 100k, it won’t buy me comfort for one night in a lounge.
But other countries like that same Argentina measured using the dollar that's not their currency. E reach your turn, you want to rebase.

Below is a book review by Princeton University press.

They shared my exact sentiment. If a country devalue their currency, it automatically wipe off the GDP value of you compare them to the rest of the world. It gets complicated.

GDP in itself is measure with time by comparing a country output this year to last year. That is why they say a country is expected to have X% of GDP growth.

From your own screenshot, there is a condition, if the local production and prices remain unchanged. But is local production and prices the same after the devaluation by balablu?

Nope, they don't. They measure with their country currency.

International organizations are the one that use USD to compare the GDP across countries for standardization.

Below is China government official data, you can see they quote the GDP in Yuan. If International body will report it, they convert to USD.

The same Argentina that union are declaring strike because of low wages and poverty just last month?

The guy don go borrow $20bn to patch it, give them few more years, they go back to square one.

This is stupid talk. The NLC and TUC went on strike during this Tinubu's era too. Tinubu has borrowed more than $20b and the economy is still in shambles.

At least Argentina has something to show for theirs.

Stop comparing grapes and apples. Data is stubborn.

Again, this is stupid talk. The only reason China bases their GDP in yuan is due to the competition they are having with the USA. Same with Russia and North Korea.

No country bases its GDP in it's local currency just same as poverty line and HDI. All in dollars.

In fact, Nigeria has never used Naira for its GDP not Jonathan or eve the incompetent Buhari. Until this reckless baba came on board. Funny enough, he's the oke who devalued the Naira.

Mr. Man take that 200k and use it to do something useful with your life.

While Tinubu hasn't taken up to $20b loan, he has taken more than $10b and out GDP is still not half as good as Argentina.

And wait, remind me why we're using Argentina as a case study for comparison? Oh, yeah, because their president inherited a worse economy and had managed to do far better than Tinubu within the same time frame.

Yes, they will have lesser GDP in dollar value comparatively anytime they devalue their GDP until they then pick up by producing more to beat that devaluation. Also, the her percentage is their devaluing? Nigeria devalue by over 250%.

How does where I live affect our discussion? Stay on the topic, don’t digress
You are still repeating this your analysis, so in other words you are saying Nigeria's GDP will never increase until the price of dollar falls...

Lol, so you lied about $20bn before. Now you’ve admit your lies and then proceed to lie another lie about Tinubu borrowing $10bn.

That is another big fat lie. Below is our foreign debt.

You don’t count world bank debt like that. Sometimes they are payment already signed by past government or agreement for future disbursements.

I know where the confusion lie. Because of devaluation, our debt increase exponentially in naira terms which was why most people think Tinubu borrowed lot of loan.

Nope. It will increase because it has always been increasing these past years just that the growth % is still small. It’s 3% yoy when it should have been 7% at least.

Our GDP can increase and it will keep increasing especially when they rebase soon.

My argument is that the only major direct reason for the sharp decrease like over 200% wipe off is majorly because of the naira devaluation.

—A day before Tinubu devalue the currency, our GDP was $363bn

—A day after naira devaluation, GDP fell to almost $190bn

Tell me any economics in the world you will use to explain that abrupt decrease of over 100% in 1 day.

You don’t know what you are saying. All country base their GDP in local currency. That is how they compare their growth rate yoy.

If GDP is the total amount of goods and service produced in a country, then why will they measure in dollar as the base value? What is the sense in that? Are they selling and buying in USD in all country?

The only reason they bring in USD is for international comparison and nothing else. Those are usually done by agencies like Worldbank, IMF, and etc to standardize the value across all countries to measure the data point better.

@the second bold statement, stop saying nonsense again. Our GDP is measured in naira by CBN and below is the source to CBN website. Check it.

Go and check the source of everywhere you see our GDP quoted in USD, they are usually international source.

Firstly, I didn't lie. I made an assumption.
Secondly, our debt profile isn't the same as the amount Tinubu has borrowed. Those screenshots I posted are facts. And those loans weren't taken by previous governments but by Tinubu's government. Or should I post links too? Since you have a comprehension problem.
