That former Managing Director of the NNPC and his lieutnants were obviously a very corrupt bunch, as has always been the case with almost all the crooks appointed to those positions since the 70s when one Muhammadu Buhari appointed as the inaugural MD, turned the place into a cesspit of corruption. The Petroleum ministry and the NNPC are the ultimate "come and chop" positions in Nigerias political appointments. That evil has since been normalised..

Problem with this report though is that it is starting to look like certain groups within the presidency are desperate to showcase the dubious acts of the former Director and his appointees for sectional interests! Side effects of subsidy.

Free money always generates free corruption.

If there was no subsidy since 1993, all them refineries would be working and corruption would be at a minimum. Because it would harm the bottom line.

When you have irresponsible Presidents as Minister for Petroleum Resources, things like these are bound to be happening. Politicians use NNPC as cash cow for generating money to be used for all sorts of illegal purposes including running election. By the time the probe is complete, EFCC wont have anyone to prosecute because the lost monies would have been mainly funneled into party and party loyalists account for prosecution of elecoral heist or the other for the ruling party. Nigeria deserves a good President that is honest, sincere and is not after money but service and things will strengthen out.

and that is just from one MD. There are three MDs and head of NNPCl. I have always said NNPCL is the best of corruption in Nigeria. If Mele Kyari was not sacked, all of these will not be exposed. The new GMD of NNPC revealed all of these.

No matter the hardship in the land I commend tinubu for this exposure of massive corruption, if it was PDP no body would hear anything, I no easy to rule Nigeria a matured jungle
