the first welder I bought doesn't go to sleep mode when not in use, but this current one goes to sleep when not in use, ensure to read the description before purchase.
And handle with Care when using, it doesn't tolerate dropping, that was how my first one got spoilt.

Bros calm down, most 12v inverter systems safely run BTW 10.5v - 15v, the sachet inverters do BTW 9.5v - 15v, while victron does BTW 9v - 17v and they're all 12v systems.

A quick question though,if you don't put them under 12v where would you fit it?

The bone of contention here is that a 12V system is not the same as a 15V or 16V systems. Never! The 15V or 16V is possible to get from your configuration, and it can only work as a 12V system when you use a converter to step it down.

I can always ask you questions and you give me a convincing answer, which I will always appreciate. But this one, I am not convinced, that’s all. I am talking about battery system and not inverter. This is what I just realized is the confusion here. Even the other guy mentioned inverter when I just checked his comment again.

Inverters will always have a safety margin in case of a higher voltage issue so that it doesn’t get damaged. If that’s what you mean by 16V or 15V inverter for 12V battery systems, yes, I totally agree. But if you say that a 12V battery is the same as 15/16V then me and should organize an avenue where we can fight it out 😂😂😂😂. Cos that one, I no go gree.

I don't buy strips less than 0.15x8x10. Because it get burnt easily when welding.
My choices of strips is between 0.15x8mmx10m to 0.2x8mmx10m.

Without a shunt you can only measure voltage but not amperage. So if u're using for just voltage display then it's fine but if u need to measure capacity then you need a shunt.

Note that based on the amount of current u'll be passing through the meter, you should endeavor to get an adequately spec'ed one for the purpose. Cheers
