What we call househekp, esp in our parents time, was literally packaged slavery. Someone's relative will send you to live with strangers of a different in a different state with no means of contact.

Reminds me of the US based Ghanaian couple that took a girl with them as help. The girl went on to report them to the cops and they were jailed for about 20 years. One of the couple ended up dying in jail and the other died after release. The girl now turned woman and married to a citizen only recently confessed that the couple never enslaved her, they were about to send her back to Ghana when she went to report them. It was her parents that connived with her to do what she did so she can become a resident.

Similar thing happened here. It was in school the social service worker promised the girl heaven and earth so lie that she cleans the house befor coming to school. The girl agreed.

Na there them arrest the Nigerian woman put charges of child trafficking n. Labour. Took all her children and bared her from employment.

It was in court the girl confessed how they pressured her to lie against her aunty.

The judge strike the case and she got her children and still fighting to get the girl back.
