Organized corruption scheme from the government. Why not simply work to reduce the student's school fees, or even pay the school fees for them, or subsidize it rather than this avenue created for corrupt enrichment and opening another controversial scheme to keep the masses confused while billions disappear? This has always been my fear since the student loan program was introduced. I knew corruption around it would be massive. The idea itself is good, but we’re simply not at the level where we can implement such a policy without corruption especially when it involves disbursing money. This is pure madness. In theory, students are supposed to repay the loans after completing their education and securing jobs. But the real question is: how will the government recover the money? With all the issues already surrounding NELFUND, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to get Nigeria’s money back. The same thing happened under Buhari’s administration, loans were given to empowerment beneficiaries, and till today, that money hasn’t been recovered. Some of them used the funds for owambe and forgot that the government trained them and gave them money from public resources. There’s zero accountability in this country, so the corruption just keeps going. It’s painful. Jeez… what’s really wrong with us in this country? Were we cursed or something? 7 Likes

Nasarawa State University school fees? It's definitely not N55,000. As of now, indigen pays Close to 150k while non indigen pays Close to 200k please 4 Likes |

I knew it was going to be a state university. Though school fees in state university varies, especially when you are a non indigene, two persons in the same department may be paying different amount. I paid 42k back in my day as a student, non indigenes were paying 89k. Proper investigation should be carried out on this matter, so the truth can come out.
