Tribalism has always been there post independence....most of our founding fathers did not shy away from Tribalism politics . Socially, we related very, very well across that country...heard stories from my grandparents about how you could go down south or further North ...knock on people's doors as a sojourner or someone in transit....and they will take you in, feed you, house you for the night without thinking twice, without any questions about tribe , religion etc....
The issue is that tribal sentiments and bigotry continued to progress and with the political class finding a way to "shake the jar" like Tunde said and ignite ethnic, tribal and religious sentiments at will... this trend has to stop but it looks like perhaps the Gen Zs and Alpha Generations that will eventually fight abd benefit from the outcomes as most people in other generations are either totally helpless or culpable

Those people that gave one man 90% of their vote gave obasanjo most of their votes, gave Jonathan most of their votes.

These people have been voting for other tribes since 1999 because they didn't have any representation for president that seemed good enough for Nigeria.
