Someone at your level will never understand. No offence, sir. Stay in your lane.

If your response to a call for accountability is this, then exchanging words with you will be a total waste of time for anyone who has direction in life and values their time.
so in your own call for accountability if a child fails in the school the father is responsible because he his the father,if a wife cheats the husband will be responsible because he is the husband…I don’t know why we always like to shift our responsibility and hate to accept where we as individuals fails.let us continue to find loop holes in government activities then blame the government for our own misdemeanors.
As if even in America people don’t take advantage of government schemes

Yes. If the child is a minor it's the parent's job to fix his/her failure. How can you disburse funds in a country with widespread corruption with no oversight of the whole process? We're not kids here, we know how corruption is in Nigeria. Same country where the said python swallowed taxpayers money.

Including stipend of 20k for 3 months. That's not wrong!

Maybe you haven't studied countries like China, Japan, South Korea etc. You will understand that African governments are just joking around and calling it governance. Those countries developed so fast because their governments were intentional about bringing good life and economic stability through smart economic reforms

And NELFUND has no system in place to verify the actual school fees?🙄

NELFUND officials and the universities are doing collabo to scam students and you are absolving NELFUND!😂😂😂
Every agency of the government established have a limite to what they can do.

It's the people that bastardize the efforts of the government while pointing fingers to the governor not doing enough.

This is why Nigeria is still backward. Whose job is it to make sure things are done properly? If you employ someone and he turns out to be a thief, it is your fault for not vetting properly. Nigerians need to learn accountability and stop making excuses for incompetence.
Let me tell you... the government can not take action like that.

It's the same people that will go out to protest that government sacks people without proper investigation.

Investigation is underway and those varsities involved in the scam will face the law.

Don't say what you don't know
It's a school loan not scholarship. They are all paying back as student loans. Lol

Now look at the corruption involved? A hasty policy of copy and paste what we see in the US.

It's always very hard to teach you G&H things on this platform.

But first... the universities will all compile names of the students slated for loan. And send to NELFUND. Then the agency writes to CBN/presidency.... Approval will be granted and money sent to NELFUND to disbursed according to what was submitted.

Asking NELFUND to apply separately for funds to start going to all the universities involved to investigate if the money applied for is truly what is supposed to be Is a waste of resources. Same you will accuse the government for wasting money.

The person who will be giving the money to fly to those states might even refused to do that while making calls to people in those states to make the findings for them. Whichever it is..... it's a waste of funds.

Now the issue is on the universities to be truthful... The are the organ that is going to destroy the scheme. While still blaming the government.

In 2025, one needs to fly to visit several Nigerian universities in order to know the actual school fees of universities...the funniest thing I have read on the Internet this morning.😂😂😂

How NELFUND don't have a database of the actual school fees of universities in Nigeria, is still a joke!😂😂😂😂

People need to know that no free thing even in Freetown. It is known all over the world that it is cheaper if you are paying out of pocket and will be expensive if you are paying with a loan or buying on credit.

One of the US government highest revenue comes from the loan it gives to its Students.

So the choice is yours, pay out of pocket or pay with a loan.

And you think the varsities can't update or review their charges now that they're autonomous?

And moreover, what makes you think that the database can't be updated for the purpose of this crime?

Somebody can forge the signature of the VC and make those changes.

Some years back, a JAMB official went to the a particular center and asked the candidates how much they were charged.... The studesaid 8k, but when their teacher was asked he claimed he collected them 5k and was disgraced on a live camera.

Will you blame the parents for not following the instructions by JAMB even when it was publicized on socials and media platforms?

It's the amount the school claims to be their fees that NELFUND pays directly into the school account. However like a true born Nigerian that I am I believe based on the corruption DNA inside ever Nigerian, somebody in body the schools and NELFUND is catching out somehow.

Organized corruption scheme from the government.

Why not simply work to reduce the student's school fees, or even pay the school fees for them, or subsidize it rather than this avenue created for corrupt enrichment and opening another controversial scheme to keep the masses confused while billions disappear?

Bad leadership is evident in the bad choices they make daily.
The one Obi did in anambra

This has always been my fear since the student loan program was introduced. I knew corruption around it would be massive.

The idea itself is good, but we’re simply not at the level where we can implement such a policy without corruption especially when it involves disbursing money.

This is pure madness.
In theory, students are supposed to repay the loans after completing their education and securing jobs. But the real question is: how will the government recover the money? With all the issues already surrounding NELFUND, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to get Nigeria’s money back.

The same thing happened under Buhari’s administration, loans were given to empowerment beneficiaries, and till today, that money hasn’t been recovered. Some of them used the funds for owambe and forgot that the government trained them and gave them money from public resources.

There’s zero accountability in this country, so the corruption just keeps going. It’s painful.

Jeez… what’s really wrong with us in this country? Were we cursed or something?
Many collected Agric loans in millions and used to money to flex ... You can't really help Nigerians. Na rubbish many wan carry money do . I dey tell you

Corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of this country. Nigeria depicts that a leader is a reflection of the people. Our leaders' characters and actions are shaped by our values, behaviors, and expectations of we the led, believe it or not. Until these things change positively from the grassroots, we will continue to wink and scream in the dark while the leaders continually plunder away all our resources with impunity.
