Listen if you sell me a phone for 2 million naira you have to be able to guarantee that you will not create another phone for 3 years so as to maintain the value of my expensive stock and give me time to enjoy it and bask in the ambiance. You can't just create another phone in 3 months time and render my phone obsolete. It's like buying an expensive stock and then the insiders crash the stock and now the stock you are holding has no more value. This is criminal activity. I refuse to pay 2 million naira for a phone unless you can guarantee that you will not create another phone for the next 3 years

What they do is that they allow you to trade in your phone for the latest device at a little extra cost...
Their own type of 'buy now pay later' makes it easier to own the latest device without stress.

I don't wanna upgrade everytime a new one cones out. I keep valuable information and apps on my phone. I don't have the time and energy to be transferring millions of information and apps every 3 months 🤨

This is exactly what I told someone the other day. Phone companies should not be allowed to be dishing out phones every 3 months...and render the most recent obsolete.

E.g. Apple/iPhone company.

It makes no sense to keep creating new phones every year. I believe if Steve Jobs were alive today, he would not be launching new iPhones every year.

But see wetin Tim Cooks, abi what's his name, is doing. Makes no business sense to me at all.

Instead, they should focus on upgrading or updating the features of phones for like 3 years or more. They can even milk users for as long as possible, giving valuable updates in exchange for cash.

Meanwhile, the company will have time for research in order to create the next powerful device. Two or three years should be enough.

Then, create a new phone. By that time, users of the old devices may have gotten tired of them and may decide to go for the new options.


But, each to his own. It is well...

Phone manufacturing business is the biggest scam of the 21st century. You don't even have the option of buying a modern phone with LCD screens. They force their scam display called OLEDs which are made to fail. My phone for going to 5 years now is an LCD screen Motorola and it has survived where all those useless scam screen phones I bought for the masses have failed while I wait for buyers.

What amazes me about this grand theft is that people are not complaining. Apple is the richest company in the world -- a company selling phones and computers designed to fail quickly and not be repairable. And governments allow this to happen!
