Residents Flee 20 Sokoto Villages Over Turji’s Renewed Attacks by ogododo(op): 7:05am On May 05, 2025
A fresh wave of bandit attacks, reportedly orchestrated by loyalists of the notorious bandit kingpin, Bello Turji, has forced residents of no fewer than 20 villages to flee their homes in Sokoto State.

The displaced villagers are currently taking refuge in Gatawa, a town in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area.

A resident, Mallam Saminu, confirmed the development in a telephone interview, stating that the mass displacement followed renewed threats and assaults by one of Turji’s top lieutenants.

“Yes, it is true. People from many villages around Gatawa have been displaced and have come here to seek refuge,” he said. “Some are staying with relatives in town, while others have been sheltered in two secondary schools—one near the military camp and another within the town.”

Villages affected by the attacks include Makira, Shabanza, Katsalle, Dan Kura, Garin Tunkiya, Dama, Dan Tazako I, II and III, Gaugai, and several others.

As of press time, efforts to obtain an official response from the Sokoto State Government were unsuccessful.

The Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor, Col. Ahmed Usman (retd.), could not be reached, while the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmed Rufai, said he would comment once he received comprehensive details on the situation.

The mass displacement has once again highlighted the precarious security situation in the eastern part of Sokoto State, where persistent attacks have continued despite ongoing military operations aimed at curbing banditry and restoring peace to the region.

I completely agree with one prominent Northern politician in the early days of Boko Haram when he said " A fight against Boko Haram, is a fight against the North".
Today they never realized it will turn out to be this way.
If they had known what was about befalling them, they wouldn't have praised Boko Haram in their early days of insurgence.
Today, it's too late.

This your 90% is very symbolic as it is the same number used by Ribadu below in his propaganda about reduction in insecurity since ebilokan took over two years ago.

Racoon:
National Security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has said that Nigeria has recorded over 90 percent improvement in terms insecurity under President Bola Tinubu administration.

Mr Ribadu stated this in Jos, Plateau State while briefing the press shortly after a meeting with the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Folusho Oyinlola at his office, following a gunmen attack on Bokkos community that left hundreds of residents killed.

According to him, President Tinubu administration will not relent in its efforts at ensuring peace and security in the country.

“In the last 1-year-ten-months, violent deaths have been reduced probably by over 90 percent in our country. We have the statistics, in 2022 and 2023 those who lost their lives as a result of extreme violence in the country has reduced,” Mr Ribadu disclosed.

The NSA stressed that a lot of bad people have been arrested and are undergoing investigations. “I can assure you that justice will be done, those who are found responsible will be prosecuted, we are doing it across the country.

“This Government has prosecuted close to 2,000 terrorists and we have got many convictions; we will not relent, we are serious, we are honest about what we are doing, we will do it to the best of our ability,” he said.

Shettima is in the same place where El Rufai is.
Responsibilities should not be delegated!

Maxymilliano:
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained why he delegated some members of the party to respond to questions posed to him.
According to the former Lagos Governor, he adopted the delegation method “to show team-ship”.

Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’, monitored by The Nation.

At the lecture, Tinubu after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how his (Tinubu-led) government would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

Let them kidnap everybody including the Governor since the FG and the North no wan get sense

When the North is ready, banditry and terrorism will stop in that region. For now, they created it, they sponsor it, and they are the highest victims of the menace

In all, blame the FG and Tinubu.

I saw a video last week, how thousands of bandit's with their gun trucks and Motor bike are in an open area somewhere in the North.
I wonder why up till now, the DSS and military intelligence cannot uncover the hideouts of bandit's within the territory of Nigeria.
So why can't they use modern security technology to locate all their hiding locations in the Northern forest and dessert?
This shows how weak and clueless the DSS is.
The DSS should be overhaul with immediate effect.

Some Yoruba people are really worried about how Mr Tinubu became the WORST President in Nigeria.
Buhari will be smiling that Tinubu holds that terrible record

undecided

This was highly expected
it was reported this morning that herdsmen killed a bus driver and made away with the passengers in Benue..

All these are happening because Tinubu sent the Efcc , DSS and police to arrest a more bigger threat in Abuja
All security personnels are still with VDM

Nigerians you are on your own

I'm telling you they're not worried

Topped it with Tinubu in 2023
They're gearing up for Gandollar 2031

Any day they capture Turji, they will tell us they will deradicalise Turji and reintegrate him into the society. NOA boss, unarguably, an Islamist, has just explained why terrorists needed to be reintegrated into the Nigerian society. What an EVIL country led by Islamists.

As long as they keep it in the North, no problem.
If Turji is caught, they should reintegrate him into the society for national security.
