These innumerable dramas, sitcoms or soap operas were indeed helpful in shaping the moral life of many of us who were already of knowledgeable age when they graced out television sets. Which ones were your favorites? You may add to the list to educate the reading public
Nice list,

But how could you omit Domino? The opening soundtrack still rings in my head, beautiful music!

Other notable mentions:

Treasure
Paradise Park
Binta and Friends
Kamson and Neighbours
Soul Sisters
The White House

If my Dad isn't at home Dem no born us well to near him TV... The yeye TV still come get like cabinet or so you've to close the cabinet when not watching still get lock....

Not like this days that someone kids can jus come back from school put on the Smart TV mistakenly throw pillow case TV don pafuka....

You're out there hustling to bring money home to buy foodstuff buh kid don spoil TV before you come back....

Kids of this days just have to much freedom..
Also, nothing like 24 hours tv. TV where i lived came on at 4 pm every day, maybe 12 noon on saturdays (till 1991, when Cadbury breakfast tv started ariring early at 7-8 am). And parents controlled TV viewing times. Any programme considered immoral...tv got turned off. (lol).

And my father used to yell at us to watch educative programmes like Speak out back then. Anything entertainement was a waste of time...lol.

Nowadays, DSTV and the internet have given us a variety of choices, but it kind of has robbed innocence. At least under the good old days of NTA....most of the time programming was not kids oriented, so we had to go out and play until sunset. Now...

I agree with your underlying sentiments but I disagree with the conclusion. There's also more educational materials on TV and online these days. More than ever that you don't need to visit a library anymore, or for the most part of it. What has changed is that we now have LAZY Parents. Parents who want to blame everyone else but themselves. Parents who want to put career above their family. Parents who prefer a house help ie the Smartphone to take care of their own children. Parents who are no longer forming a tribe and community of support but doing mind my business. Parents who want to blame government for children they brought to this world, but they will never accept responsibility for their own failures. Parents in the past were more intentional, despite their shortcomings. Parents today only want to blame others for the problem but they never want to be part of the solution.

Don't forget that softsell magazines and pawn cassettes, bad influence was still around in the past. Parents today don't want to evolve, they want to keep blaming their own parents for failed parenting or the mistakes those ones made instead of trying to fix it. Every generation will face its own unique challenges but the basics of raising a family will never change from Amazon's headquarters in US to Amazon forest in Brazil.

The lion will b on d run
Can d lion be braver than the jungle
